7-0 vs Livingston in the 2005/06 SPL

Last time we scored 8+ was 9-0 against Montrose in the League cup (2003)

Before that was 8-1 against Killie in 1983!

Excellent. My mate text me after the game asking the last time we did 8. Montrose or Killie. Glad the old (SD) gray matter is still working.

Think the most we ever scored was also in the cup 16 0 with the wonderful Baker boy scoring 9. Think it was against a team from the Borders Selkirk?

But still failed to beat his brother Gerry's record of 10 goals in a game.

And oh aye, Mcwilliams scored for Peebles.

How about 11-1 against Hamilton? I was there but can't be bothered to check the stats.

Peebles Rovers ?

Correct. Score was actually 15-1. Feb 1961.

I was just a bit young for that game. I've seen Hibs score 9 goals 3 times in my lifetime (St Johnstone, Rosenborg and Montrose) all at ER. But never seen them hit double figures as far as I can recall.

Anyone know when we last scored 10 or more?

Last time was the 11-1 against Hamilton in 1965

We also beat Alloa 11-2 in the League Cup just a few weeks before that

Just checked. Gerry scored 10 goals against Glasgow university in 1960 and it might have been more but he had to leave the pitch after he was struck by the ball in a delicate part of his anatomy.

Although I had been to a few games by then, don't think I was at either of these. Auld man must have been working. I was, after all, only 7 back in '65 and only got to games when he took me along.

Settle a pub argument: when was the last time we scored seven goals at Tynecastle in a derby? Genuinely struggling with this one.

Think that was what Liam McLeod was alluding to in his commentary on Sportscene last night when the 7th went in.
Fair play to him for mentioning it to remind anyone who had forgotten.:greengrin

Good question DBS.

An east of scotland shield match august 1980. Yams were 2-0 up with 10 mins to go (sound familiar?)

When Gordon Rae and Willie Jamieson levelled matters. Hibs went on to win 5-4 on pens. That jambo legend?? Archie White missed their last pen.

Now i think there was a previous occasion we scored 7 at that piggery....
