Real Madrid were offered a €300m transfer fee with €100m a year going to Ronaldo, but he knocked it back.

Crushingly disappointed. I thought Rod had found all the loose change he'd squirrelled since 1973 and thought ****** it, let's make a cheeky bid to bring him to ER.....

This stuff is all good news for clubs like us. The Chinese are offering quite frankly insane money for the best players, it wont be long until the best youngsters from South America and Africa head straight there instead of Europe, as I understand it the South Americans are already getting offers from China for players who are wanted by European clubs. That means the value of the best European youngsters will go up and up and that effect will trickle down.

Instead of English clubs offering peanuts for our players the price will be driven by this new market and they will be forced to pay more ..... instead of one million the likes of SJM could be going for 2 or 3 million.

Mind you, the way things go in China it will only take a change at the top for the public millions their clubs are spending to be cut off overnight and the clubs directors chucked into a labour camp for re education :greengrin
