It was horrible wasn't it ...he seems to be blaming the pitch after it ....

I thought it looked Beckhamesque, as in his left foot gave way just as he was about to strike the ball with his right

His planted foot seemed to move the ground under the ball

The turf of grass clearly wasn't knitted right and when his left foot pushed down it moved and pushed up a little mound. I thought it was a shocker at first until I watched the replay.

Just saw the replay in slow mo and he has a point. Even Kane said he'll have nightmares about it tbf to him

I thought he planted his left foot far too close to the ball for starters. Looking at it in slow motion he was lucky he didn't do some serious damage to his left ankle.

a little..but also not helped by his planted foot sliding towards the ball as the pitch gave way

My son was telling me about a keeper in Germany recently who dug his boots into the penalty spot before a kick was taken and the penalty taker missed. My first thought when I saw the penalty last night was that someone had tampered with the penalty spot.

What is Southampton had a penalty at that end though?

Not only has the miss made him world famous, it's also opened up a new career (http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000765633/article/harry-kanes-penalty-kick-miss-warrants-nfl-attention) for him.
