Duncan Urquhart played for Hibs in the eaarly 1900's and he had a son with the same name. I have a friend who is trying to get in touch with the son. He used to live in Watson Crescent, Edinburgh 11, attended Herriots but they lost touch in the early 1960's. Any information that could help put them in touch would be appreciated?

There's a Douglas Urquhart who attended and has taught at Heriots for the last 30 years or so. He'd be mid 50s now I reckon.

Surely Heriots can point you in the correct direction? I know the auld blackboards are redundant so no pun, re-pointing

Does anyone have information on John Meaney who played for Hibs around 1916? He was an Irishman and my great Uncle. Would love to find out more. Heard he scored in a New Year Derby. Sorry for butting in 😂👍

His son posted on the dads ihibs page - might be worthwhile leaving a comment that he wants to get in touch

He played at least 40 games for Hibs between 23 December 1916 and 14 September 1918 plus a Charity appearance for Hibs v Hearts in the Baillie Bathgate Charity Cup in 1924 which the Hibees won by 4-1

I have a pic of John and his 2 brothers which I will upload when I get home from work

That's brilliant Brian.
I can't wait to see this. My Granny was Martha Meaney and they were all Leithers.

Unfortunately I don't know the Team but suspect its not a Senior Team as I can't find League records of James or Abraham Meaney registered as Players. The names are also cut off but you can still see Abraham and John in the middle row and James in front of John in the front right.

Were there papers with game reports back then for Hibs?

I've probably got copies of most games he played in. If you want them, send me a PM with your e-mail address and I'll send them to you.

I'm pals with Duncan's grandson (son of the Duncan you're looking for). Can put you in touch if you're still needing a contact. Cheers
