View Full Version : Being afraid to lose

The mindset at the club is clear - they are terrified to lose. Ever noticed we only seem to score once we go behind and that's from the game plan going out the window and just getting it into the box by any means necessary?

We won the cup final because we desired victory and didn't take our eyes off that. That's what NL needs to instill. We're looking at the opposite and it's poisonous.

They should be scared of not winning

Don't agree. Effort is not the issue and we attacked today especially in the first half. We have players who are simply not good enough.

No, that's a very negative way of looking at things which puts massive pressure on. They should be confident of winning and put all their focus and energy on making that happen instead. The possibility of losing should not be a part of their mindset.

That's why it's soooo frustrating when we create and miss all those chances for about 70 minutes and then, typically halfway through the second half, our opponents run up the field once and score. If we planned properly we would concede early, which would take away any fear of losing that first goal midway through the second half, and give us plenty time to not only level but go on and win the game! :agree:
