Sacked. I know they're 17th in the Premiership, but it seems to me he's done well to keep them in the top flight. Merry bloody Christmas..
Other's probably know better than me, but he's always seemed to be a decent manager, even at Newcastle where a lot of the fans seemed to hate him.

Only won 6 times this calendar year. Got the least points/per game ration in 2016 aswell. Getting to the FA cup final papered the cracks.

Also spent more than teams around him in the summer and they are garbage.

Cant really have too many complaints, however, its very poor timing to sack a manager 3 days before Christmas.

As a Newcastle fan it comes as no surprise. He's useless.

I don't see him being at the point of selling the Big Issue so I wouldn't worry about him. :greengrin

Sorry that anyone loses their job near Christmas or not but he comes across as a complete and utter roaster of a man.

Him and The Breadman must be related in some way.

There will be a lot of happy people in Sarf London tonight, not least the Palace players & Staff! I advised The Cat to put money on this at start of season but unfortunately Swansea beat us for 1st Sacking!

Didn't he get Newcastle something like 6th place and higher than chelsea in the league ? Dunno why he was disliked that much at Newcastle they have had by far worse managers.

He started fairly well.

Most managers would struggle to come back from a run of 15 defeats in 21 games and a terrible start to the following season though. His derby record wasn't great and overall he lost more games than he won as manager.

I don't mind Pardew and despite league position, think Big Sam would be a poor appointment. They don't strike me as a club that needs saving just need a talented group of players to improve, that's not what Sam is about.

I personally thought he did pretty well at Newcastle. Whenever they had a bad bit of form he always seemed to turn it around. Considering how competitive the premier league is I think he's a decent manager.

The situation with managers in the EPL is just ridiculous. However Pardew can GTF. He's a complete roaster and comes out the same bread bin of fuddery as warburton.

Worst derby record in newcastle history and also most consecutive defeats in newcastle history, a complete fraud of a manager.

I actually think they have a decent squad of players and with the right manager think they will end up mid table.

Never liked Allardyce but he'll get a team with Benteke, Zaha, Townsend, Cabaye etc scoring goals and staying in EPL.

Football Managers eh.

Bit like Sheriff Officers, parking wardens, Govan polis, professional politicians, and paedophiles.

As a group they just do nothing for me, but there's bound to be one in there that isn't just an oxygen thief and a threat to normal people.

Actually, that may be a bit O T T and I apologise for any offence.

Govan polis have no redeeming features at all.

Getting a £4.5m pay off. Not that long ago was a contender for the England job. I like watching palace, play decent football and there's always goals in their games. But only 6 wins in 12 months is not good going.

May not be very festive of me but I don't see how close it is to Christmas as being all that relevant. His family won't go without turkey as a result of this, and it can't have come as totally unexpected.

Palace have important matches coming up straight after Christmas. If they've decided he's not the man to take them forward, better to get the new face in ASAP before they are in even deeper trouble.

If ever the phrase "out of the fire and into the frying pan" was apt ..

Having endured both at Newcastle it's not going to end well.

Allardyce to be replaced by McLaren by this time next year ...

Big Sam doesn't get sacked mid season. He gets resilts.

But Palace will get tired of him, one way or the other. :agree:

I was out with a bunch of Palace fans last night. Although all are happy to be shot of Pardew there was no enthusiasm for Allardyce. We'll see but it wouldn't surprise me if Allardyce is also out before summer.
