He was permanently injured and didn't look like he'd ever be fit.

Played a lot of games for Partick though.

As far as I remember there were no issues with his ability or attitude, his only problem was his injury-proneness.

He did have some bad injuries like a broken leg. He got hit by Martin scott in training if I recall and got his cheekbone fractured. I quite like Welsh as a player and glad it seems to have worked out for him
