Doesn't look good no mention of the whereabouts of the driver.

3 injured and potentially 1 death at an Islamic Centre in Zürich, not 200m from my gaff.

Manhunt underway as well, though yet to check what the status of that is since last night.

Sad day for Berlin after the shock of yesterday evening - at least 12 dead, 48 injured, difficult to take this in, although many of us here in Berlin "sort of" expected that something like this may happen at some point!

Uncomfortable feeling of shock, numbness and helplessness here this morning - my wife works a few hundred metres from Breitscheidplatz; its Christmas Market was one we went to relatively often, not too overcrowded, nicely decorated, decent food and Glüwein!

Our thoughts here in Berlin are with all the families and friends of the dead and injured ... have to wonder where we go from here, the right-wing already cheaply using this as propoganda ...

I'm sure I heard on the news last night that the shooter (and weapon) had been found dead a few streets away. I believe he was already being hunted for a murder carried out in Zurich on Sunday night.

Yeah there was a body found nearby that's just today been confirmed as the shooter.

Madness that it's happening in somewhere as generally safe and relatively quiet as Zürich

Went to Berlin for new year. Wonderful city and the people were determined to show their resilience and party party party!!! Fireworks everywhere and around 1million people on the streets around Brandenburg. Fantastic stuff in line with the celebrations on November 9th 1989.... I know cause I wiz there that night!!

Haven't been there since April 89 when it was a divided city.

I'd love to go back. It's on the list!!

I went there last January and thought it was crap. I was there with a group of my mates though and it certainly didn't feel like much of a "party city" in the same way that Amsterdam, Barcelona, Prague etc do. Thought the food was atrocious aswell.

You're on one if you think the parties are better in Amsterdam and Prague.

If you can't let your hair down and have a ball in Berlin, then you must be bald.

I went on a boys holiday in 2006. Thought it was a great city: good night out, friendly people and stuff to do during the day. We ended up watching Union Berlin as well which was a great laugh. I've been to a few German cities and it's my favourite EU country to visit.

i'm guessing you didn't head down the Kreuzberg & Nuekolln areas...they are filled with cafes, bistro's , bars, speakeasy's and clubs....great pace to hang out and party...

Some great restaurants too.

We were there 2 years ago and loved it. My brother-in-law who is in his early-to-mid 20s was there with two mates just before Christmas (he managed to miss the terrorist incident thankfully) and he and his mates struggled to get into any of the 'cool' clubs and bars because, get this, they weren't wearing trainers and one of them had a shirt on :greengrin Polar opposite to what bouncers are like here. :rotflmao:
