One of our own passed away last night. I'm absolutely gutted right now, but spare a thought for johns family. Had a 2 year old boy and a girl due to be born next week.
Tears are running down my face as I type this.

I'm very sorry for the loss of your friend, mate; with a wee one due any day and so close to Christmas. There's nothing one can see when things like this happen. Was it sudden?

It was mate, Suspected heart attack. I went to primary and secondary school with john. He was only 40. I remember his delight outside the Alhambra the day the cup came down the road. He was a true leith legend.

Gone at 40 with no warning. Things like that take a long time to sink in. His poor wife about to give birth; what a situation for her.

40 mate

I was at the same primary and secondary school as him, he was in the year above me. Gutted for his family.

No seen John for ages but whenever I bumped into him we'd have a good chat.

Condolences

Awful news on so many fronts. In his passing it looks like he has brought you and an old schoolmate together though.

Never knew the guy but the circumstances, the age and the family have me stunned and bring it home. Bloody hell that's sickening and I can't even imagine what people close to him are going through.

You look after yourself too mate.

John's my wee cousin. John Snr was my late fathers young bro and it was my uncle John that took me to my first ever Hibs game - League cup final 1972.

RIP John - taken away far to young.
