Watching Shef Utd v Cov & two things strike me
1) ground lookes to be virtually empty

2) its like watching a training match.

I guess SKY really is what is keeping the game alive at that leve.

Is not due to a protest that the place is empty, the whistles are very annoying. :greengrin

Get the title right.

It's Coventry v Sheffield United.

I was puzzled about the fans protest at Sheffield United. The Coventry dispute has been going on for years. The Club is owned by a load of sharks.

My mistake sorry, my comment was not about Coventry specifically, but about the quality of the game & lack of paying customers.

Very few actually. Certainly not on the scale of SISU at Coventry City.

They moved out of the purpose built stadium in Coventry to play their home matches at Northampton 33 miles away at a 8,000 capacity stadium. Coventry averaged 20,000 plus when in the top Division and were pulling in 16,000 - 18,000 in the second tier. They had close to 11,000 aerage in the third tier but dropped to 2,348 when at Northampton.

They appeared to be attempting to blackmail the stadium owners - Coventry City Council and a local charity - into handing them the stadium at a knock-down price.

The stadium owners called the bluff of SISU and eventually they moved back to Coventry. The stadium was later sold to the Wasps Rugby Union club.
