"Don't concede early," is the message from Martin Canning to his Hamilton players ahead of facing Celtic in tonight's Premiership clash at Celtic Park. "If you concede early they will scent blood," says the Accies boss.
Anyone got any more examples of how to get your players shaking in their boots?

Mark McGhee's commented in post match interviews more than once recently about how you take a beating some weeks and will hand out skelpings in other weeks. He says "that's just this league is". Find it weird that he accepts these heavy defeats, even more worrying is a guy with this mentality being involved in the national team.

Sometimes conceding early takes away the fear of conceding early.

I'm sure when McGhee was at Aberdeen he said something about rather being the Celtic manager just before they played each other. Was worse than Calderwood and his bag of sweeties.

"You don't lose a goal, you don't lose the game". Alex Miller's regular, inspiring, pre-game battle cry (according to Mickey Weir several years later).

Woo-hoo!

'Keep it tight early doors' is hardly an unusual part of a team talk in football is it?

Correct. Used by tealadies everywhere. "Here's what to do if conceding early" etc is more interesting. While monitoring & adjusting as req'd. But you know that anyway.
