Dart Board Stands

I like a game of darts, but I've always been reluctant to have a board up in the house because of the noise it makes when playing late at night and disturbing the neighbours.

I see that you can buy stands for the boards to sit on so they're not on the wall. Has anyone used these and if so, what is the noise like when the darts hit the board? Could I play late at night and not bother anyone in the adjoining houses?

Boy in my work has one says he used to take it with him to warm up with before tournament play. Says its ok, used it in hotels etc and never used to get any complaints.
