View Full Version : Thank you Robbie Neilson

Seeing as how he's away to flounder down south I think it's only polite to thank Robbie Neilson for his work over the last couple of seasons. Without his total lack of character or bottle to pass onto his team Hearts would have no doubt held on to a two goal lead with ten minutes to go at Tynecastle and the Jambottler's songbook would still be filled with their "since 1902" songs.

I'm sure that all Hearts fans will look back on the two years and thank him wholeheartedly for the additional income from the fifth round replay at Easter Road which they of course lost to a player they didn't think was good enough for their youth squad and found his way at the wee team.

See you as a Sportscene pundit who's failed down south sooner rather than later, Robbie :aok:

You can't believe I enjoyed Neilsons Hearts throwing away a 2 goal lead that eventually lead to scenes we will never see the likes of again?

Ok then.

He comes across as a deeply troubled character with a dour countenance similar to a man awaiting his last meal prior to getting strapped into an electric chair. When his doom laden voice wafts across the airwaves during his post match interviews I find it hard to discern if his team have won, lost or been beheaded in a mass execution, his demeanour never alters, his consistency has to be admired, he is never anything other than a sour pussed welt. Christmas morning in his house must have all the allure of a funeral parlour, his kids probably have a lie in and pray that he buggers off to do extra training with his hoofball players. But for all that I like the guy, he gave us the springboard to win the Scottish Cup and for that we should all be grateful, I look forward to reading the MK Dons fans forum after his first press conference, I may sign up to it and provide a translation for those that don't speak miserablist

Thank you RN for being part of the reason that we won the Scottish Cup.

The scenes at the Hanlon goal will live with me forever and still gives me goosebumps thinking of it just now.

His promotion with them gets blown out of proportion as an achievement.

Most of their squad had played together for over a season,, would have gelled because everyone was against them and actually started playing not bad before the end of the relegation season, they added 3 or 4 "decent" players like Sow & Ozturk and came up against a Hibs team, more like a whole club in disarray, with a new person in charge in Dempster, new management team in Stubbs and a completely new squad bar 8 players i think.

Plus the fact The Huns were a mess under McCoist with his has been squad and it was an easy enough job to get promoted playing fast attacking football against everyone else, i think his record Vs us and The Huns that season wasnt anything great either.

Coming 3rd in the league may sound great, but was a league without The Huns and us, they were on the back wave of being promoted so they had a good feeling around the club. They had the 3rd biggest budget by a MILE, and came 3rd...

The season is where it counts and from listening to the yams, hes failing, embarrassing Europa League exit, shocking performances, relying on a RB in Paterson to score goals because the 5 strikers they have have struggled, sure the top striker has 3 goals this season. Cant pick his top 11, cant pick a formation that suits, plays players out of position, cant make subs that change a game.

However, I will be eternally grateful for his part in our Scottish Cup victory.

Infrastructure much better than at the yams I would think.

After his slaverings about Heriot Watt, I'm looking forward to hearing him talk about how much better the training facilities are at MK Dons.

The injury time goal celebration at Tynecastle will live long in the memory - cheers Robbie :aok:

Yep, after he leaves I hope we get snippets of how it was at Hearts. Was he instructed who to pick by fax, or in F2Fs with Potter, that kind of thing.

Not only did Hearts clear Hibs path to the Scottish Cup Final (and glory) in 2016, Robbie Neilson also lost a euro tie to a maltese team who played Hearts in the Hibernians stadium in Malta.

So much money spinning:cb
