He's now trying to defend his comments. Claims he never meant "poof" but "paedo". Think that's his Sky career gone. Always been an oaf but his comments are terrible

Plenty of people have the same thoughts in their mind,he was just daft enough to publicise his thoughts.

Edit: I only saw one tweet now I have read the rest and it gets worse.

"Might be a looney but if some football coach was touching me when I was a kid as I got older I would have went back and sorted that poof out"

"Darts players tough guys footballers wimps"

"Bet the rugby boys are OK"

"You got to sought him out when you get older or dont look in the mirror, glad I'm a dart player, proper men"

and then ended it by saying "sorry, meant paedo not poof."

Obviously drunk but that's the thing about social media, the daft comments are permanent.

He's finished after this...and rightly so.

So his belief is that victims of a paedophile are not 'proper men'?

That's inexcusble. Being pissed might explain it but it doesn't excuse it.

Sky have now dropped him.

Costly opinion to have!

Absolutely. Absolute fanny of a man.

Yep - inevitable. He wasn't even a decent darts commentator or pundit anyway, just a slavering clown. Got the gig as he used to be a great darts player, so I can't see it being a hard decision for his employers if there was any doubt at all.

Oh dear. Can't say I'm surprised; he's always seemed like the archetypal ignorant Essex man. It's easy to picture him down the pub, mouthing off about immigrants and political correctness.

Paedophiles exploit their victim's shame and make them feel guilty for what happens to them.

If people really believe that it would be easy for victims to "sort their attackers out" in later life, then they are bereft of understanding and emotional intelligence.

They obviously didn't learn anything from the Saville revelations either.

I don't think many people are as thick in this regard as Bristow.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion but those comments are just disgusting.

He ought to be ashamed of himself.
