Is it just me or is this really a front for retailers dumping sale stock at the end of November instead of at the end of the Christmas period.

There's a few good general discounts of 10-20% but nothing extra-ordinary on thing you would really pay full price on.

Don't usually have anything to do with it but was going to a fifa tournament and there was chat about needing a second TV and no one was helping so I figured such a problem on black Friday was a sign.

Got a 32" smart TV for 150. The ticket said £100 off but I highly doubt that's true. Still reckon all in all its a decent price for the TV though.

It's a good way to save a few quid when buying everyday stuff. I bought some shirts from TM Lewin which I needed to buy anyway but by going in on Friday I saved £15. Couldn't be bothered with queuing before the shops open or anything like that though.

Another pointless Americanism. The reason it's on this specific date is because it's the day after Thanksgiving and EVERYBODY is off. Why we seem to think having the biggest sale day on a day where EVERYONE is at work is beyond me.

I had been out with a canny fellow on Friday who'd bought a laptop having done the homework.

Wife said on Saturday morning she needs a new one.

Something that could easily have taken days, if not weeks of humming and hawing, done and dusted in minutes.

Still,in weeks time it'll be last years model!
