Congratulations to the Committee of the Hibs Supporters Association for putting on such a great night to congratulate the team that gave us all that great day in May.

The function was attended by most of the cup winning team along with officials of the football club and guest John Doolan.

After a three course meal with wine we were entertained by the players taking part in a question and answer session which was both revealing and amusing at the same time.

The highlight for me was John McGinn being welcomed on to the stage with a loud chorus of "we have John McGinn Super John McGinn" much to his delight and embarrassment!

The players all gave a good account of themselves and spoke well.

Ex referee Kenny Clark was the main speaker and gave some hysterical renderings of his relationships with old firm players. Bill Barclay followed him with some well used patter and jokes.

In all a fitting evening to show the team how much it meant to the support, that day in May. A thoroughly enjoyable evening had by all!

ps i hope santa brings the association a couple of hand microphones for Christmas!

It was an excellent night, all the speakers were good as were the player interviews. It was unfortunate the night was marred with those who can't help shouting out and heckling the speaker and those numpties who decided to start boxing near the end of the Bill Barclays set, no need for that.

It was a great night and John Doolan got a wonderful reception :not worth Kenny Clark was excellent, plus very complimentary towards the Hibees, and Bill Barclay was, well, Bill Barclay :greengrin Big Frank and Rod Petrie spoke well plus a good number of first-team players turned out too :agree:

It was a nice touch by Kenny Millar (reporter) to donate his fee for the evening to a charity of the HSA's choice and CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) will be the recipient :aok:

Was'nt heckling only trying to let it be known that us at the back couldn't hear, turns out that there was a prob with the mike, and at £40 a pop it would,ve been nice to hear what was going on.

Doesn't matter. If you're at a dinner and can't hear the speaker, it's rubbish.

There was no heckling as far as i could hear other than the players adding a few bits to those on the mikes. Up at the back it was very difficult to hear sometimes and those shouting were only making it known to those at the top table that they couldnt hear everything..
The tussle at the end was primarily cause by a stupid idiot who had had too much to drink, who had been a pest most of the night. even after being asked to sit down and be quiet to let people hear what was going on still continued to make a fool of himself and others around him were trying to get him to leave the room.

that besides we still managed to have a good night and all tried to make the best of the situation with the microphones.
