Only my opinion, but the defence looks totally relaxed with him in behind. Yesterday I noticed him shouting confidently at times when he came out to collect - which was something that Oxley (nice guy and all that) was poor at.

I think his stature and speed off the line flummoxed the striker when Hanlon slipped.

Wee things, but they add up.

Bit like Fonts, totally no nonsense and does it all with ease (suspect kicking though)

I liked Oxley but now that Marciano has really settled in I think you can see what he brings to the team.

Confidence seems to flow from him and it's so obvious the defence trusts him and his decision making. Both Oxley and Logan played their part in a memorable season but it's a position we have definitely improved in. We have a very good 1st choice goalkeeper and a more than capable back up.

Really solid at the back, mostly due to the spine of McGregor, Hanlon and Marciano imo.

Best attack and best defence in the league, it's looking pretty ominous for everyone else.

Now I know we are in Scotland's second tier, but with the state of our national teams central defense, surely this stat has to be taken seriously by the powers that be in selecting international players. Hanlon and McGregor have both played for years in the SPL and IF were playing in the English Championship or one of the ugly sisters would be stick-ons for selection.

It's for that reason that I think he's a cut above what we had before. He is like a second skipper the way he organises the defence. It makes us very hard to beat in this league.

We need to keep scoring now. I'm not in the skoosh brigade as I think United will push us all the way, but due to the defence I can't see us having a spell from hell where we couldn't buy a win, which happened last two seasons.

And yet last week after a 1-1 draw with falkirk some on here wanted us to replace both full backs....
Really good balance about the defence right now and the stats show it.
