former rangers player Daniel Prodan has died of a heart attack...aged 44

rip

Prodan was 26 when he joined Rangers from Atletico Madrid for £2.2m in 1998, but a knee injury prevented him from making a single first-team appearance.
It was later revealed the signing was completed without a medical examination, and Prodan left (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/r/rangers/1149030.stm) after two and a half years in Glasgow

didn't realise he didn't even play for their first team

This was the Guardian's take on the story:

Former Steaua Bucharest, Atlético Madrid and Romania defender Daniel Prodan has died at the age of 44 after suffering a heart attack.

I'm sure Jim Traynor has already complained about their shocking bigotry and hate.

As the old saying goes nothing nice to say? Say nothing. A person has died his family and friends will be devestated he is so young.

Tragic.

The club he used to play for is totally irrelevant when it comes to matters like this.

A man of 44 years of age has lost his life and that's the only important fact in this story.

Cmon. Condolences to his family, but it's hardly disrespectful to point out that he signed for proper Rangers not the tribute team.

I'm up for ripping that lot to shreds as much as anyone but I don't think it's appropriate to talk about that when it's a story about someone losing their life.

Maybe it's just me.

Fair point.
