There has been "some loss of life" and dozens of people have been injured after a tram overturned in south London, police have said


sky news reporting a possibility of 'several' fatalities, driver of the tram has now been arrested



5 dead, still two been trapped for 7 and half hours

Driver has been arrested but not sure what for.

Radio 4 news suggests the tram was traveling above its speed limit for that part of the track.

Apparently it derailed at a sharp left turn where the speed limit is only 12 mph

Lessons have been learnt unfortunately micro sleeps happen to most train/tram drivers. The company's try and take steps to reduce fatigue but drivers who work shifts suffer from this.

It's not far from where I live and there have been a couple of tributes at Selhurst this year because one of the victims was a Palace fan. Seeing things like this really annoys me as it's utter negligence. I really don't know how the driver can wake up and continue driving.
