I was at a wedding this weekend, so I fear that the dots in front of my eyes would distort the count.

I would doubt it.

Probably looking at an attendance of about 15000 which is still decent.

Anyone got the capability and time to give a dot count update?

For the stmirren game I counted the east stand on the thursday lunchtime. There was 1142 remaining in the east and we went on to have 14485 at the game.

I've counted the east in the last 10 minutes (48 hours earlier than i counted the St Mirren game) and it looks like this -

37 - 263
38 - 78
39 - 101
40 - 68
41 - 26
42 - 44
43 - 69
44 - 386
45 - 284

1319 remaining

So 177 seats short of the st mirren game with 48 extra hours to sell them.

The dot count doesn't work, approx 10% season ticket holders miss each game (that came from Leanne) and the exec seats top tier centre are usually about 75% empty

The dot count doesn't work, approx 10% season ticket holders miss each game (that came from Leanne) and the exec seats top tier centre are usually about 75% empty

It doesn't work in so far as it doesn't tell you the exact attendance on the day, but it does work in telling you the exact number of seats sold and any still available for purchase.

There is no mechanism for identifying whether more or less than Leanne's average 10% of season ticket holders show up on the day, so it's the best we have.

Good to know it's 10% though. That means we can subtract roughly 1,100 from the number of tickets sold in the home stands to estimate the attendance.

I'm amazed every home game that the attendances are still so high.

I thought there'd be an initial boost then they would settle in to around 11-12,000 (still better than last season).

It looks like a number of factors are going to conspire to keep the crowd under what it might have been for this one.

A few will be in London
The natural drop off I expected after the initial cup final euphoria had worn off
Falkirk aren't looking like the challenge they might have been .... still a tough game though
The weather forecast for Saturday is terrible
Some folk will be at the Rugby ..... oh dear!

Serious question ...... do the police ask the RFU to schedule games so they don't clash with Hearts being at home? If they do it seems a bit unfair on Hibs from a commercial point of view.

I don't think there's ever been any consideration given to Scotland rugby matches clashing with Hibs or Hearts games. Tomorrow's game with Australia is a sell-out and will definitely take a few off our crowd. I'm working this weekend so unable to go to either game, although I'd have plumped for Easter Road.

In in the days when the police knew how to handle crowds there was one Saturday when Scotland played Wales in front of 80,000 ,we had a cup tie against Aberdeen with 30,000(including quite a few Taffs who had decided to follow the red scarves to a different ground)and Hearts had over 40'000 for their cup tie with Rangers. No bother anywhere.

I remember that though I think the rugby was against France. We lost 4-3 to sheep having been 4-0 down & sheep keeper, Reggie Morrison was MOTM. The answer to OP however is yes. Crowd control for both PBS & Rugby is (or was) managed by Torphicen St while ER is managed by Leith. Therefore they prefer to keep Yams/egg chasers separate.

I'm lucky in that international football has never really done it for me. In addition, I hate the small minded west coast orientated football authorities and therefore pretty much anything to do with Scottish football that isn't Hibs. I would have giggled had Scotland been crushed by anybody else bar England, but as they are just as obnoxious in their own way, I content myself with a smile of disdain and a patronizing "will they ever learn" shake of the head.

A long way of saying that I find myself in fine fettle for this championship contest, with zero emotional baggage from other footballing sources.
