Just caught a trailer on more4 tonight at 9.00pm for home front heroes with Ian lavender, in the trailer being interviewed was our very own 100yr old Sam Martinez talking about his wartime experiences, have set the planner, cheers Sam RIP.:cup:

I had to laugh when Sam told about his time up in the Highlands when the kids told their mother that the coalman had arrived. They obviously hadn't seen a blackman before.

Just got round to watching this. What a wee superstar. Ian Lavender seemed to be a bit of a Sam fan too. And I also realised from the wee look we got from his passport that Sam shared a birthday with me (and Ivan Sproule). I'm in pretty damn good company :wink:

Sam was on a programme last night again - one of the BBC black history programmes about Caribbean servicemen in the war. May have been a repeat as he says he was 104... and a half...
