A bit like Craig Thomson being voted Referee Of The Year in 2012 by the Hearts Supporters Club or Albert Kidd being picked as POTY in 1986 by St Pats. :coffee:

I think she's probably deserving of the award, but she's been found sadly lacking since the brexit result.

Christ, Nats are sore losers.

This wasn't the line when Salmond or Sturgeon were winning the award.

I fully agree with this. I do not like or vote for the Tories, but she gained a lot of respect from me before the Brexit referendum on a range of issues for her general approach, sense of humour and public debating etc. even if I didn't agree with her views. However, since the referendum, her flip flopping on that particular issue, plus the fact that she stood up to be counted with the appalling racist Tory rhetoric at the recent conference has seen her plummet in my estimation. I thought she was great on Have I Got News For You last year, but her chuckling and little interjections in last week's programme were irritating in the extreme.

tRuthless is definitely befitting of the award for Scottish Parliamentarian of the year after riding about on tanks, bulls etc, but I would have liked Alison Thewliss to have been awarded the best Scots MP in Westminster for her work on the TORY #rapeclause , instead of Mundell who's looking after himself, rather than Scotland.

Didn't agree with her views. But really didn't like her personal character either. Everything about her is fake. Her ability to debate isn't anywhere near as prolific as some like to make out. Her "sense of humour" was just a tactic to dodge answering questions. Behind the "banter", she stinks like the rest of them.

I'm not a sore loser at all. RD has done well as leader of the Scottish Tories. I was merely pointing out the predictability of the Herald chosing her.

She's certainly got them punching above their capabilities. Maybe if Kezia stopped going on her jaunts to the states, she'd get the Red Tories into shape.:greengrin

This must be what they mean by getting on with the day job.

As a nationalist and a socialist ( no not a national socialist, that's an entirely different thing ) I am diametrically opposed to just about everything Ruth Davidson stands for, but it cant be denied that the woman comes across as extremely competent .... its bloody annoying.

The reverse is true too.

I attended the dinner and the Tories did very well. These are awards are judged by an independent panel. I very rarely agree with the selections but these awards are subjective. But I think all the parties get at least one.

A lot of Labour and trade unionists campaign for the democrats. I was over in 2008 and campaigned for Obama. But it is a it surprising that Kez is over just now. Some of us have political interests outside our border.

As I said, I find it strange that Kezia is over there again, so soon after her last visit, it must be all of 3 months.

Maybe she thinks all's fine in Labourland.

Oh, and I'd think most of us have political interest outside our border.

McTernan, the man for whom the word 'sneering' could have been invented.

With a track record like his, he really has no reason to be either.
