This is the weekly show piece which offers an opportunity to affect public opinion and Labour should have this government over a barrel, but everything just seems so tame and weak.

Questions about Saudi Arabia, although laudable, are hardly going to win back Labour voters from UKIP and the Tories.

Where were the questions about banks leaving the city of London?

Or the looming price rises on the back of a crashing pound?

What about May's leaked comments that Brexit would be terrible for the UK economy?

Perhaps my negative opinion of Corbyn, and my opposition to Brexit, have blinded me to his competence, but he still appears innefectual to me.

I don't tend to watch it any more as it frustrates me too much (albeit for other reasons than the ones you've mentioned). The behaviour on display only serves to enhance the public's negative perception of the political class, which is already a huge problem in this country and contributes massively to apathy in the population and low electoral turnout.

Corbyn might have been on to something when he was reading out questions he claimed to have received from members of the public. The problem is that the answers given by the PM or other Minister are often vague and incapable of any tangible scrutiny. Whilst generic promises are often made, these are not held to account by anyone in a meaningful sense.

A Question Time style show, supported by some kind of post-show independent analysis/fact-checking, would be a lot more useful to democracy in this country than PMQs in my view.

He did actually mention banks "with their fingers over the re-locate button". But he didn't follow it up. He just seems to ask the question and then move onto the next one, accepting any reply that gets sent his way.

I didn't watch it this week but I'd guess the questioning about Saudi Arabia was in response to the SNP following a similar line of questioning last week and the position it put May in. Depending on your stance she was either shown to be incompetent and unaware of what was going on around her or a downright liar.

That provoked a big repsonse on social media so it's a fair enough way to go imo. It's also an important issue although admittedly not likely to be a vote winner.
