I believe they had to pay all football creditors otherwise it would have been liquidation.

Actually they wouldn't have got a licence to play football from the authorities otherwise they would have probably welched on those ones as well

Not quite. Had they not paid their football creditors, they wouldn't have been granted an SFA Licence.

Edinburgh of City Council ...£90 plus grand. This will be unpaid Council tax/rates. Funny how ECC never chased this up yet when joe public goes into a few quid arrears they are on it straight away.

All this businesses done over yet they want to build a new stand etc.

About right for that mob.

I will never ever let them forget. Funny how every time I mention this after 1-5 and 1902 (which is burst) it was "this was in the past and doesn't matter now"" really. Administration will always be part of your history!

I don't understand this one either ....... when it comes to personal council tax it doesn't matter a toss how many creditors a private person has had to bump you still have to pay it, even if that means coming up with a payment plan. Considering the sum of money involved and the well publicised financial difficulties ECC have endured recently under what rule were HoMFC able to avoid paying the 90 thousand pounds?

Speaking as someone who has been chased for unpaid CT in the past I would certainly like to know why a business, any business, is allowed to get away with this when I was badgered and threatened for months over a couple of hundred quid, and I'm sure theres a lot of folk who have been in my position who would like an answer to that question as well.

I don't understand this one either ....... when it comes to personal council tax it doesn't matter a toss how many creditors a private person has had to bump you still have to pay it, even if that means coming up with a payment plan. You wouldn't have to pay it if you were bankrupted.

Yip strange one this.

I bet no normal business would get away with it to the same extend without something being done.

All now forgotten about by that mob and its following.

Disgraceful and despicable club that has no shame!

At the time things were so bad that it was certainly an option ...... in order to avoid it I did everything I could to pay my debts, which left me without a pot to piss in at the end of every month .... it would have been a hell of a lot easier to declare myself bankrupt ..... bloody pride eh?

They tell me the Yams have got spades of pride :greengrin

Then add to that City of Edinburgh Council (for flats) £2,631
When people find it difficult to get Council Houses in Edinburgh, how can the Council rent flats to a football club, presumable for players to stay in?
Surely the Council couldn't be showing favour to Hearts over people or families in Edinburgh in need of accommodation..........Or were they??

If there is anybody up on how you go about "freedom of information" questions of the council this might be an interesting on.

The 146k they owed Heriot Watt is the one which stands out to me.

Is there any way to see if this was ever settled or just ignored.

Wasn't it found to be triple that once the "final" list of creditors appeared?

What waves could they have made?

They ranked with every other unsecured non-football creditor, which meant they got nothing.

Was BIG Hearts Community Trust not their own private charity and was there not a much larger sum of money collected on it's behalf but spent on the team instead? I vaguely remember some rule about charities not being allowed to declare funds which have not arrived in their possession and hence in Administration, Hearts were able to conceal that embezzlement from the final creditor list.

That was almost as bad as stiffing the Lady Haig's Poppy Fund - one of the most shameful acts in the history of Scottish Football.

You wouldn't have to pay it if you were bankrupted.

I think what folk are trying to say is, how were they allowed to get to that amount without the council taking any action against them before they went bankrupt, as folk have said, you miss a few payments and Scott & co are on the case straight away, letters, court action, goods seizure to pay the debt, why were they not chasing them before they went bankrupt.

We don't know that the council didn't take action against them.

In the normal course of things, reminders are sent out.

More reminders are sent.

Threats of Court action are sent.

Notice of Court action is sent.

All of that is common to both private and business debts. The whole process can take months. If your balls are big enough, or you have no money, you just ignore it. And ... crucially, in Hearts' case, it's all confidential. Even more importantly, the Council can't withhold services, in the way that the Utility companies can. So, generally, they're at the end of the queue.

It's only when it actually reaches Court that it becomes public... and that could be a year or so down the line. Even at that, if the case goes against you, and you still can't or won't pay..... you don't, and accept the consequences.

Re the first post on this thread:

It has the line……the Odious Scott Wilson £1000.?

I have known Scott for over 35 years and he has always been a daft Jambo who wears his Heart on his sleeve.
He was actually a very good goalkeeper in his younger days, and played behind me for quite a few years.

So, I think its a bit much, too call him odious, even though he always refers to us as the Wee Team.(He's actually a very funny bloke and great to have a bit of banter with!!).

I don't think any of my Hibby teammates from that era would ever say anything bad about him and he's done a fair amount of Charity Work over the years.

To "the vue from 1875" have you ever met him or been in his company?.

IF you have and thats still your opinion, then thats fair enough, as I realise that we can't get on with everybody.

GGTTH.

Most determined organisations have mechanisms to pursue debts at tight intervals and to a normal conclusion, if the debtor is actively trading they will tend to get judgements / secure assets etc - draw your own conclusion about the apparent inaction here.

Big Hearts - :dunno: I lifted this from their own disclosed creditors list of shame - There was a suggestion there was another list where the trust had a five figured sum "resting" in the yams accounts but a contra rent charge by the yams to their charity disappeared it (?).

Lady Haig Fund - Yep, but if they deny it long enough it will go away?

See HWU above. Where there's a desire to pursue the debt the Council can do it and be into your assets / income fairly quickly, the question is how long does it take to rack up the yam debt and how far down the process were the council when they suddenly became aware they couldn't / wouldn't pay?.

Big Hearts lost £36k. They were charged that amount for 'rent' for desk space in one of the club's offices. The club had collected the amount through a variety of ways (can collections, donations, charity grants etc) but used the funds for 'rent' instead of giving the money for the charity to use. Big Hearts until that point had never been asked to pay rent and had to cancel many projects and staff lost out on work. This was when they were struggling to pay the player's wages.

To be fair this is the guy that was looking forward to the money spinning replay against us in the cup so he does have previous for being disconnected from reality.

Debts of 7 and 8 quid that they owed but didn't pay back. Show them for the two bit low level parasites they are. Bus station conmen.

Ripping off charities is about as low as it gets and they know it.

Saw this too

Nelson - "we have the best training facilities in Scotland by a country mile".

Fails on two counts.

A) No it isn't.

B) It's not yours.

The rephrased version should have said

"We hire Heriot Watt's facilities when we have cash to do so and it ranks among the best although Hibs, Celtic and The Rangers have their own ones and we extremely jealous that we cannot and never will afford our own"

Nice try though Chewbacka

Really xxxxxxx me off - 'We have the best training facilities in Scotland'. As 'Greencastle' says, that they're so great that they can't afford to play their developement games there !

He also slavered something about 'soon having the infrastructure to challenge Septic for the league' - must be approaching time for half-season ticket sales and they need to milk their Muppets again !

So you can forget about the debts of over £20m plus the 16m of debt forgiveness by ukio winkas but as long as you pay the football debt, which was a tiny percentage of the overall debt then that's ok. I'm sure Scott Wilson is a nice guy but when he is spouting his crap at the pbs he's anything but. My mate has stopped going to the pbs and just says he can't be bothered because the football is pish. I think it's more to do with him being a decent person and does feel ashamed at all the time around Romanov. Obviously one of the few from them with a conscious. Can't stomach anything to do with that club. I have to put up with them socially and they talk the biggest load of tripe you've ever heard. I'm sure some of them are those that post on every hibs post in the Scotsman. The club with no class and no shame.

This 'praise up' sounds like friends trying to make out their kiddy-fiddling best pal was a good lad at heart because of all the charity work he did:greengrin I think he is a genuinely sound gadgey...apart from being a Jambo. Those of us who haven't met him, or known him in a previous life, can probably only judge him on his behaviour at Tynie. I can see why people get frazzled with him, his constant digs at the 'wee team' and his regular highlighting of hyper-inflated attendances can get on some people's diddies. As you say, we can't get on with everyone.

A total of 28,421,917 we should never let them forget this

If you add in the debt for eqity swaps, the "debt forgiveness" and the dodgy inter company invoices I believe the figure tops £70m.

But as a yam pointed out the DFE swaps were a transaction and that UBIG got Hearts FC shares in return for their cash.

And folk wonder (usually Yams) how they went bump?

On the poppy fund debt I once had an epic spat with Lord Foulkes on twitter which really, really annoyed the bastirt.

I assume to money owed to Herriot Watt is for vets bills?

I didn't realize that donkey Dave McPherson was still on Hearts' books?

This was just the interim list. The final list was published on 2/12/2013.

On page 41.
An extra £ 646,851 was due for unpaid VAT.

The Heriot Watt debt went up to £ 5,125,528.00

Sorry the Heriot Watt debt went to ???

Do the University not publish figures or ever make a statement about the large amounts of money they were due?

The crazy thing is that Oriam has somehow brushed it under the carpet and let them continue to use the building (when the students and Hibs Development) aren't playing matches.

It's always write funny going to the Hibs development games at Oriam and you see the Hearts players watching the Hibs games..surely can't feel like a proper home training ground for them.

Before the derby last season they were silly enough to do a shaping practice on the open Heriot Watt grass - East Mains may be far away but least it's private.

Enough said

The 146k they owed Heriot Watt is the one which stands out to me.

Is there any way to see if this was ever settled or just ignored.

Well, do they still have training facilities there or have they been emptied?

Charities, the Red Cross, struggling local small businesses, both council tax and national tax payer all ripped off by these jokers yet still they attempt to claim some sort of moral high ground as they strut around Edinburgh in their blooded turd outfits.
These lists should be reposted regularly to remind us all just what they did and to whom.

The list is disgusting with some highlights

Lady Haig Poppy Fund (I believe this was paid by a benefactor)

Edinburgh of City Council ...£90 plus grand. This will be unpaid Council tax/rates. Funny how ECC never chased this up yet when joe public goes into a few quid arrears they are on it straight away.

All this businesses done over yet they want to build a new stand etc.

About right for that mob.

I will never ever let them forget. Funny how every time I mention this after 1-5 and 1902 (which is burst) it was "this was in the past and doesn't matter now"" really. Administration will always be part of your history!

I'm sure it matter to the poor people/businesses/charities etc etc they cheated out of money! Thats who the real victims in all this are so they can shove their "oh but but we didn't know what was happening, we are the victims, it was big bad Romanov" up their arse. They knew fine well the sort of corrupt establishment that was being run at their club but they didn't give a **** as it was reeping them a wee bit of cheated glory and fuelling their wee delusion that they are some sort of super mega club.

Shameless doesn't even begin to cover it with that lot. They got away with absolute murder as usual but instead of showing a wee but of remorse or humility about their shameless past they are back giving it the big un, gloating about "this heart still beats" and other such guff which is basically giving a big two fingers up to everyone they cheated. Quite astonishing even for them.

Their obsession of being "the big team" drove them to nearly killing their club, thats how bad it is. They cheated and conned just about everyone they came across just to cheat some glory. Despicable club.

To be fair to Hearts, the total Heriot Watt debt related to the total amount due over the length of the lease, which still had quite a few years to run and which will have been replaced with a new lease, so Heriot Watt aren't really out of pocket by that much. I'm not sure how much in arrears Hearts were with their payments, perhaps this is the £145k that was originally claimed.

This is how I see it.

They weren't paying for it and what figure are they actually paying now ?

Would this be shown in the Hearts accounts ?

It is odd they can't afford for their youth team to play their home games there but we can afford it. They don't even play their games in Edinburgh !

The only published figures for training facilities were the report at the end of administration.

Most people form an opinion on folk they haven't actually met by judging their actions and comments especially if that person is in the public eye. So no great surprise that some people have concluded that Scott Wilson is on their dislike list.

Never understand why this is put forward as justification on a person's character. There are quite a few recent examples of individuals who "did a lot for charity" that can be described as odious at best.

The man is pathetic and this is evident by his need to get a reaction from opposition fans whilst trying to appeal to the pond life in their support.
If he wants to have a bit of banter he should at least try to be funny instead of craving a reaction. For a grown man it's actually quite pathetic.

There is a boy at my work who - regardless of the situation, work, play, out with mates - does that "5-1" thing if there is a camera about and puts it on facebook.
