I thought I'd start a thread about the greatest song of all time. Obviously I think that Creep is the best song ever and anyone who disagrees is wrong, but if you must, I'd like to hear your second best :greengrin:greengrin
Taking us down a bit of a cul-de-sac with that heading mate ;-)
As for Radiohead, fake plastic trees is a wonderful song but the rest are pretty naff. The boy needs to cheer up a bit.

As a huge Radiohead fan I can take or leave Creep, the whole Pablo Honey album isn't really that great imo. It has it's moments but it's a band still finding their feet and far, far better followed. If I had to pick a best Radiohead song it would probably be My Iron Lung.
Best song ever is subjectibe of course but if I was to pick a song I listen to regularly and never get bored with then I Am The Resurrection would probably be the one.

Love Radiohead, Creep's a great song but it's not even their greatest song, never mind the greatest song ever (which is, obviously, Dr Jones by Aqua...)
Best Radiohead song, IMHO, is How to Disappear Completely or Paranoid Android, but there are plenty to choose from which stand up (virtually all of The Bends and OK Computer apart from the one with guest vocals from Stephen Hawkins).
Best song ever is Rock N Roll Star by Oasis.

I've no recollection of starting this thread. I'm currently on holiday staying in a log cabin. I can only think that the people in the adjoining cabin got to listen to a bit of Radiohead last night. :greengrin

Creep is indeed a stupendously good tune. But the best song of all time is Tom Waits' 'Grapefruit Moon'. Any of the other songs from the touched by genius Closing Time album will also do.

There are at least twenty Radiohead songs better than Creep. Very good song but they have so much more interesting material.
And I'm seeing them at Glastonbury next year!

If we're getting started with Dionne Warwick, then surely Do you know the way to San Hose has to be the best?

Great tune, but we also have Walk on by (both written by Burt Baccarach). She has an effortless voice that doesn't try to dominate the track...maybe it's just nostalgia but they don't make them like they used to.

I'm not letting this go unnoticed or unchallenged but I admire your decisiveness.
It's now got to the point where I have trouble sleeping because I simply can't decide wether Cotton eyed Joe or Old pop in an oak is my favourite Rednex tune.

It was between that and the Birdie Song, which lost out on account of its lack of lyrics.
