Frank Sauzee ................ I cant remember a player whose name missing from the team sheet caused my face to fall as much as him.

Matt Le Tissier / Graeme Payne ( Dundee Utd ) ..... I'll put a DVD of Le Tissier's best 20 goals up against anybody. How many times did I watch Graeme Payne and marvel at how difficult it seemed to be to get the ball off him, a tremendous wee player who I would have put money on becoming a legend.

Mate don't show your ignorance..amazingly gifted player..wonderful passer of the ball...one club man...funny, humble and great bloke...plus if you look at his top 10 goals on Youtube not one of them is a direct free kick (ok one is a flick up from a free kick, but the rest are open play). In the very last game at The Dell Southampton were playing against Arsenal..Le Tiss was late in his career and on the bench with just a few minutes to go he comes on as a sub, his first touch is to control his second is to hit a screaming volley into the top corner to secure a 3-2 win...Legend.

:agree:

Le Tissier was absolutely phenomenal, brilliant to watch.

One of the reasons that English football isn't the spectacle that it was 20 years ago is because of the athleticism of the modern player making the slightly unathletic but ridiculously gifted maverick (such as Le Tissier) struggle to make an impact.

If he was all about free-kicks then he'd probably still be able to make a decent impact but sadly I think he's a bit of a relic of the past.

It's one of the reasons why football a few levels below technically can be infinitely more watchable.

I loved Le Tissier. Him and Chris Waddle used to do some fantastic things in games.

Spot on...plus the question was "favourite non-hibs player to watch" not "best ever non hibs player" I enjoyed watching Le Tiss in his pomp, more than watching Messi or Ronaldo, just because I could identify with him more.

Also a cheating bar steward.
Every game he played in he bet the opposing team to take first throw in. So if Southampton won kick off he would always punt it oot

Favorite current hibs player - Dylan Mcgeouch; Great passer, really good work rate these are two of the things I value most.

Favorite all time hibs player - Scott Brown; Drive, Passion and his footballing capabilities were sorely underrated. Just wish he went to england instead of celtic (think wigan were linked and they helped developed some great kids).

Favorite non hibs player to watch - Andrea Pirlo; Put a coin down on a football pitch anywhere and he would fine it with the most elegant pass, no better pro going played at the highest level most of his career until now; think his last game for juve was the champions league final at 36 not a bad swansong !

These aren't even the best ten goals! It's missing an overhead scissor kick against Notts Forest and a goal against Norwich when he dribbles around the entire Norwich team.

I grew up in Southampton and was fortunate enough to watch pretty much the entirety of his career. I never saw him make a tackle, win a header, or even break into a run. He just kind of wandered aimlessly around the pitch in his own little world.

To get back to the point of this thread, it's striking how a large proportion of people's favourite non-Hibs players are players who've been at one point or another slagged off for their "work rate" or lack there of.
