So it's 70 years since we last won the first 5 matches of the season...so if we win again at the weekend..when did we last win the first 6....and what is our all time record ?

I'd be more comfortable reading this stat after 6 matches.

Been having a wee browse and Jim Scott did it in 64-65.....can't find any who have scored in the 1st 6 though.

Had a browse and pretty sure that if we beat Ayr United on Saturday it will be the first time we've ever won our opening 6 league matches

Not what was asked but thought I'd do a comparison as to where we are now compared to the last two seasons: -

2016/17
15 points from 5 games reached on Saturday 10 September
GF 11 GA 2 GD +9

2015/16
Had 9 points from first 5 matches
GF 7 GA 3 GD +4
Took us until our 8th game to get to 16 points, 3-0 win away to QOS on 3 October

2014/15
Had 6 points from first 5 games
GF 7 GA 8 GD -1
Took us until our 11th game to get to 15 points, 1-1 draw at home to Hearts on 26 October

Top in the UK at the moment.

We only lost 3 in our first 24 games last season in the league (twice to Rangers), with 14 games unbeaten in a row after August, you can add another 3 games if you include the league cup.

Also last time we played Ayr was a pre-season friendly last year and it was 0-0. I'm sure we'll beat them this weekend though

Interesting site that. Kaunas have lost their last 14 games. But I'm more worried that Santa Claus have lost their last 10. Maybe calls for some sort of pun along the lines of gifting it to the other team?

I've been told they only show up around Christmas.

Depends on where you draw the line at 'start' and/or if you're just talking about straight wins- Rangers won their first eleven games last season, before losing to us, then were W2 D2 L1 of their next five.

Hearts won their first 4 games before drawing in 2014-15, but was 21 games before they lost, by which time they were P21 W17 D3 L1. They won their next 9 games after that, before losing again.

So the rangers have the all time record for best start in history?

In the Championship, yes - but it's only in its fourth year. Didn't check all the way back! I'd suspect Rangers would probably still hold that record though.
