In the midst of all the negative stories we've been hearing regarding football clubs/fans recently (well, Celtc and The Rangers mostly ) this really is a touch of class from Everton. Anyone who is moved by this little lad's story can donate £1 (or as much as you like) by texting BRAD02 £1 to 70070. http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37341891

It's a fantastic gesture. It's a drop in the ocean for Everton but still a wonderful gesture.

I wondered how long it would take for someone to say it was a drop in the ocean. Why is that always mentioned after a tremendous gesture by someone/organisation rather than just acknowledging their generosity.

Wonderful gesture from Everton and best of luck to the wee lad in his future fight against his illness.

Agree mate. Hope all clubs put some money in and get the lad the treatment he so critically needs.

Exactly. It might be a drop in the ocean but they didn't HAVE to do it and it's nice to see some of the obscene amounts of money swilling around in the EPL get put to good use [emoji122][emoji122]

Dont see why anyone would try and put down an amazing gesture like this by discrediting the amount due to who is giving it.

£200k is £200k, they didnt have to do it. No matter what money the club has.

Fantastic gesture and well done to Everton Football Club.

Treatment should be funded by uk NHS. The boy's parents are citizens of the U.K. Should be no need to do this but proud to be an Evertonian.

Without sounding to disagree with you or be disrespectful I dont think it matters who funds it tbh just as long as it is and you have every right to be proud of EFC for their generosity to a kid that isn't even an Everton fan. Hope other clubs take heed of the possibility to help people out.
Puts Everton in a whole new place with this gesture.

Well done the Toffees! Tremendous gesture by the club. Good to see the positive side football highlighted for a change.

Completely agree with this, but think it's a great gesture by Everton

Hibs class or if it exists, Everton class 😉

They've also invited the young lad to Goodison for the return fixture later in the season.

Lovely gesture.

100% this, disgrace that it's not however well done to all involved as I read earlier that the 700k has now been met.

All the best wee man.

Do you know the details?

I'm 100% pro a well funded NHS for all, but it's easy to criticise individual cases without knowing all the background.

The right result has happened here though.
