Wings over Scotland account has been shut down by Twitter after a complaint by an Express journo, saying she'd been abused. I know some on here like/don't like the Rev, however after seeing what's been said, it seems a bit harsh to have shut him down.
Anyone else following the story? #freewings

Can we not just complain about the Express in return and get that shut down? I'm sure there are plenty of muslims and asylum seekers who have been roundly abused thanks to the stuff they peddle.

A few of their front pages over the last few months. The hatred and bile is there for all to see.

Just looking at those cover pages and it becomes apparent that their target audience are Royal Family loving Racists. Not that I didn't know that but it's kind of highlighted in that pic.

Tits like her and David Torrance are happy to dish it out but can't take any criticism. Journalistic equivalents of Lee Wallace.

The Express is awful stuff, mostly aimed at awful people.
Same goes for the Rev. He's vile. Sorry, but there's room for debate in Scotland but Rev Stu just poisons it. This isn't a Yes v No thing (I voted Yes) but the guy is not helpful to the Yes cause, or political debate in general.

Yup. The Express is a hate filled rag, possibly worse than the Daily Heil.
But Stu is a monumental c***.

As I said in the OP, some like wings, some don't. I personally like the way the wings site deconstructs most of the Unionist crap on the MSM these days.

Got back on last night without an explanation. The Daily Express spat brought a whole new clientele to the wings site.:greengrin

I agree.
I used to read his stuff, but his aggression turned me off him. His "style" does nothing to attract people to the Indy cause, it may actually do the opposite.
He operates in an echo chamber, preaching to those who already agree with him.
It's a pity, because the Indy case badly needs to be communicated outside the SNP bubble, but intimidation isn't the way to do that.

Fair dos, I just don't like what he said about Liverpool fans at Hillsborough and the crap he came out with about 9/11.

The Express (and a couple of other rags) has an obsession with the SNP. Every one of their headlines is demeaning one.
Okay, each paper has it's political leaning but some including the Express have leaned over so far that they have toppled and are below any level of reason, objectivity or common decency.
They have actually defiled the word 'journalist'.
I hope they all go down the tubes - and the sooner the better.

They are just doing exactly the same as Wings and The National, playing to their audience.

To be fair, they were openly formed as a reaction to that. The Express is supposed to be a credible news source. Wings is on par with the average football fanzine.

That's not an endorsement of Wings or the embarrassing troll who runs it.
