Between 400-500 seats have a restricted view with some seats that bad that you can't actually see one of the goals. It will only improve IF they do the next phase of development. What a disgrace to expect people to pay high prices in a NEW stand where you can't see properly.

I thought the affected seats were only £9 per match?

That's outrageous, Scouse. Fans should simply refuse to buy them

I believe,I maybe wrong that only those considered the most severe are so cheap, others with a poor view are not.

They have to go ahead with phase 2. Won't take long until fans revolt (some already have).

Could be a lot worse. Hearts new stand holds 400,000 bandit and will be built facing the pitch with both goals in full view.

I suppose the alternative is keep them empty? Not easy when you are trying to think ahead on the development front.

Exactly...as long as they sell them with a proper description of the restriction (unlike some stories I've heard about Goodison) then what's the problem. Clearly they are doing the redevelopment in phases and reminds me of when Hibs built the FF below the level of the pitch!

Personally, I think it's disgusting how they went about it and a few restricted view seats is the very best of it.

Have seen the design Bob and the top row of seats will allow perfect view of the ball as it hits the top of its curve, collecting some snow, on the way from the defender to Tony Watt's head, pretty impressive bit of engineering! :agree:

The Tv Camera is way too high now as well, like watching ants on Match of the day on Saturday!

Yeh, a bit strange unless they do continue with the development .. I presume they will wait to see if the new capacity sells out regularly before adding on another 4,000 or so seats. As somebody else said, the TV cameras are so high up now the players did look like ants on MOTD.

I'm sure Everton will learn from these lessons when they eventually build their new super stadium which will kick Anfield's ass :greengrin

I'm sure Hearts will be looking on with great interest for ideas on how to squeeze 'em in and exceed the capacity at Easter Road.

Am I right in thinking that some of the back rows of seats in the top tier of the away stand at Motherwell don't even have a view of the pitch due to the height of the roof? I've been in the top tier before but near the front.

The alternative would be to not put seats where people can't see or design it better. One of the seats you can't even sit up straight in!

Scouse friend of mine was in one of the £9 seats and was highly impressed despite being dubious beforehand, must have been one of the better ones.

They've been designed to take account of the next phase though. Easter Road looked like it had been designed a bit strangely until it was all done.

Front 3 rows of the south stand were not used as an example!

Liverpool needed a new ground. The Centenary Stand and the Anny road end are bl00dy awful. In the Anfield road end you cant see the ball if I goes overhead height in the away end, if you sit in the back 6-10 rows. As a visiting fan atmosphere aside (which can be varied) Anfield is disappointing IMO

A restricted viewing area at Anfield sounds like a great idea, how do you go about getting tickets for that? :greengrin

I can arrange a resticted view for you but it won't be at Anfield. PM your home address ;-)

Read the whole article and have to admit to being really angry about it.looks like they singlehandedly turned Anfield into a ghetto. I like LFC, but see their owners as ****.

That's a pretty depressing read and doesn't paint LFC in a very good light at all. I've been around the area a few times and its pretty run down, no doubt about it. I'm sure I read a few years ago that a guy walked into the LFC shop, put down a cardboard box and got into it saying that because of the club that's where he would be living.

Celtic Park has about 1000 restricted seats.

I was stuck behind a pillar there about 10-15 years ago. It obliterated the whole 18 yard box at our end. Every time the ball came down our end I had to look up at a big screen hanging from the roof of the stand.
