It was great to see him get on the park today and receive a round of applause from the Hibs fans. He couldn't possibly have expected that after starting from the bench.

Cup winning Hibs player who got thrown in at the deep end.

A well deserved round of applause today imo.

I think Andy is doing some coaching for the SFA. I've seen him at a couple of the Hibs Ladies games this season (including last Sunday at Spartans). A bit taller, and I'm convinced he would have been one of the top keepers at the club (cup winner's medal notwithstanding)

Given we're a swaggering Scottish Cup-winning, soon-to-be league conquering cup outfit, I'd think we can almost set aside the near decade of decline and anger and afford most ex-Hibbies - even the average or rotten ones - a round of applause. Or at the very least general polite indifference.

Bar a select few.

I clapped Lofty on. Just wasn't sure why he was needed. Still looks like he was wearing his dad's top....

Lack of height rather than lack of technical ability was always his issue. Saying that, I would be raging if we lost a goal like the 4th today.

Two guys behind me where discussing, for about half and hour, the fact that he had gained an inch in height since playing for us.

Lofty deserved his applause and it was nice to see him respond by clapping the FF.

Apparently, Gaston had to leave the field with a bruised thigh following his jump at Holt's goal. According to their fishy site anyway

The beast got him after they stormed his castle trying to free belle.

Why? It was a peach and the keeper had less than no chance?

Was great he got a round of applause, not exactly a legend, but one of a small number of players I've seen win the league cup.

Funny, my brother didn't recognise him, and asked why the applause, when I told him, his reply was: "**** me, he's shrunk"......:greengrin

Looked like he wanted Sir David Grays top at the end...was certainly chatting to him for more than the normal handshake :)

Andy was on the same bus as me back from the semi final win against Dundee Utd. He was on good form and even got a can of beer from some dafty who just wanted some peace and quiet to drink his carry out :greengrin

It was a Citylink bus, not a supporters bus!!

Didn't realise he was at Morton until the subbie was announced. Completely deserved his applause. Noticed him and Lewis having a good chat at FT - great to see two of the Class of 07 on the same pitch.

Changed my mind since seeing the replay. The angle I saw it from at the match looked as if the defender should have got to the ball and McNeil was just standing watching.

Does every Cup win have to have an unlikely goal keeping saga to go with it?

Logan's crazy meat pie heroics.

AM looking about 12, and thrown in.

Budgie being, well, Budgie.

Maybe this is the secet of our success...

Played in the Scotland v Spain U19 Euro Final in 2006 as well.

Unfortunately AM now at Morton whilst some in the opposing team that day are plying their trade with Man Utd, Barcelona Zenit and Porto.

Will go down as part of a cup winning team but to be fair to us when he left Hibs he fell through the leagues fairly quickly and ended up at Montrose who were propping up the whole of the league. He wasn't exactly hard done by but he is fine lad by all accounts.

Remember a game when we beat St Mirren 2-0 and he was absolutely outstanding, pulled a number of world class saves at the end, was amazed.

Don't remember the score, but remember one save in that game in particular that was just unbelievable.

Sure he had a spell with Livingston higher up the league than that and is obviously in the championship with Morton.

Just had a look at the Scotland squad and it's crazy how many of them ive never heard of. You'd have thought a team at the last real age group before first team club football that got to that stage of an international tourny would be full of players playing SPL or above but just goes to show that even from that level its still a huge step up to first team football. Juan Mata and Pique the two names from Spain that really jump out.
