The Irn Bru Cup is the Challenge Cup otherwise know as the Petrofac Cup as of last season.

I think we can put any team we want in, it's open to the 1st team. This year premier clubs were aloud to enter their U20's and i'm sure the next round brings in2 Welsh and 2 Irish teams.

If this tie was in the Scottish Cup, what a scramble for tickets. Away season ticket holders would be delighted to be guaranteed one. The fact they will be billed for a ticket for this tie is what detracted me and many others from the away season ticket.

Is this not a contradiction CH, you mention scramble for tickets, but then you say it was a factor in you not buying an Away ST?

Thank goodness this is regionalised, imagine how far away we might have been if it wasn't.

Sorry if not clear. I meant that if this was a Scottish Cup tie, having an away season ticket would be great. But because the club chose to include the irn bru cup in the away ST a number of us opted out.

They included all away games in Away ST, what would be point buying one, without all games being included?

It'd be the same as when you buy a home ST then, wouldn't it?

Not exactly my point. The away season ticket doesn't include U20's away games. And there's every likelihood that U20's, and not first team, will play in the irn bru games.

I know including the irn bru games meant a number of people didn't take out an away season ticket and that's not a comment about it being a diddy tournament.

Maybe because the in the Irn Bru cup, Hibs may play a development team

Who says?

Hibs played full strength sides in all Challenge Cup matches over the last couple of seasons.

It would be lunatic to play an under 20 side in all Challenge Cup ties. There are squad players in need of game time apart from anything else Forster, Fyvie, Insall, etc. Maybe with non-league opposition a young side will play this round. I would envisage something like the team used in the Birmingham match.

It's right on the edge of Speyside so a couple of days to take in some distilleries is recommended

I would assume given it is an international weekend we will be playing squad members who may need a start so would assume a half decent team will play. Good opportunity to give some a run out.
