Internet, do your research, find exactly what you want and save a **** load of money by cutting out the middle man.

We used Trailfinders for Thailand.

We did Bangkok - Chiang Mai - Chian Rai - Koh Samui - Bangkok.

For doing a tour like that they were really good, & definitely worked out cheaper than if we had done it ourselves.

Agreed, if you're just doing a straightforward break, its cheaper to do yourself.

Give me a shout if you've got any questions.

Jimmy Martin travel in Stockbridge. Also a Hibby, a few weeks ago we spent as much time talking about cup final as we did planning the holiday 😀

Agreed. There's lots of good reasons for booking through a proper travel agent for many types of holidays. Frutin have always been very helpful to me.

Travel Republic normally comes up with decent prices as it searches all the other online agents.

Travel Agents? Surely no one uses them any more.

Although the web makes it very easy to DIY, there are some systems travel agents have access to that can get cheaper fares than Joe Bloggs.
For example there's a site I use, ITA Matrix, that shows cheap air fares but some of those fares can only be booked by agents.

Apparently there are loads of folk out there that can't do it online and prefer to go and pick their tickets up.

Good point you're right I never thought of that, plenty of folk that don't trust the post (and rightly so) and always like to collect their tickets in person, if only Hibs would realise that too.

I just prefer to book direct so no need for an agent.

Same here. I just download my boarding pass to my phone or print it if I have to.

I don't think it'll be long until everything like this is done electronically.

I bet those who biooked online with low cost holidays wish they used a travel agent.
Make sure they are ATOL protected in both cases.

Probably not as they booked to suit their budget.

I used Bryton Travel in Polworth to book my Honeymoon. Thought they were very good.

I booked online with Kenwood travel for a trip to Thailand a couple of years ago. It was quite good but it's just as easy to book fights on skyscanner and hotels through trivago or trip advisor.
