I have heard some say yes and some say no as this is a new season.

What's everyone's thoughts?

Agreed. Leave the cup for Tam McCourt to polish. We've won it and let's move on.

Then again, when we draw The Rangers in any competition this season, look it out and give it to Gray.......

The previous season's league winners unfurl their championship flag at 1st home game of the new season, why not do something with the Scottish Cup.

Yes.
Bringing the cup out will give the fans and the players a right lift at the start of the game.
Could lead to an early goal with the atmosphere getting lifted right from the start.
Nothing to lose by doing it in my opinion.

Course they should bring it out. We've waited 114 years and had to suffer years of goading and ridicule. To actually see the cup out on the Easter Road pitch would be wonderful. How could that possibly put the players off, it would surely give them an extra boost. It's not as if we're fed up doing it over the years. Let's milk it while we can 👍🏆

We have the trophy till next May, so there will be plenty opportunity for public appearances for it. Fine for friendly matches and such, but while the fans will be looking back fondly to 21.5.16 for years to come, the players can't afford to do so on what will be our second game of the new campaign.

The players can't do it for obvious reasons but I don't see why Pat Stanton or someone along those lines can't bring it out and show it around the fans at our stadium.

Would like to see it paraded at Lewis Stevensons Testimonial with lewis brining it out first so he is only player on pitch rhen each hibs players being announced and being passed the cup and then lap of honour after match

Can understand the "let's concentrate on the league" replies but still think it would give the team a boost before the first home league game. It would definitely give me a boost. We can't let the Scottish Cup win fade away. At least not until we 'lose it' - whenever that may be.:greengrin

I would agree. Match day is match day and the job on the 13th is to take three points from Dunfermline. It's not so much the effect it might have on the Hibs players, though I think it would inevitably distract them from the game of the day - it's the effect it might have on the Fifers.

It could be seen as being a bit disrespectful to them, and it might just annoy them enough that they try extra special hard to beat us.

Dinnae want that.

At this point it is not the actual cup anyway, so other than watching the DVD or youtube its time to get on with a rentless march towards the title. The cup victory will never be forgotten and the tale will be retold often I'm sure. For the players time to move on, they can do it all again next May - League and Cup double.

The actual cup is kept in Hampden.

I voted No. Time for the players to focus fully on the job in hand - winning the Championship and promotion.

Also I can't think of anything better to wind up the opposition and get them trying harder against us.

I have spoken with someone who works for the club. Lenny is reported to have said that the Scottish Cup win was last season and he wants the players to be fully focused on gaining promotion so the cup will not be paraded on the day we play Dunfermline.

I voted no ....... Its time to get a kick on and concentrate fully on the job in hand and that means winning the league ... imagine if we lose to Falkirk and bring out the cup the following Saturday .. I can just hear the cries of 'never mind that, start winning games ya bunch of losers' from our grumpier fans :greengrin

Besides ... Hibs have been very good at taking the cup around the smaller grounds on their travels .... I got my photo taken with it at Gala Fairydean Rovers.

The idea other folk have had that it should next reappear at Lewis Stevenson's testimonial match is a brilliant one .... it would be a fitting tribute for him to walk out in front of the team holding the cup :aok: ...... get a good draw and a bit of luck in the league cup and perhaps he could be walking out holding two trophies .... now that would be something :greengrin

No, there's one real cup that stays at Hampden in the museum. The only time it comes out is the presentation at the final then it goes back in its box.

There is also one replica /body double that the winner keeps for a year apart from when it gets used for all the promotional stuff surrounding the current competition.

100% agree that Lewis should lead the team out carrying it at his testimonial. First game of the season though, i'm in two minds. On one hand , why shouldn't we milk it? God knows we've waited long enough! and it would give everyone a massive lift (not that one is really needed tbh!). On the other, this is a new season and whilst we should never stop singing and lapping up our SC, its time to focus on this season and getting back up to the premier league.
