This time last year we didn't have Stokes, Cummings goal scoring was still unsure, Henderson didn't sign till the 15th August and we had Carmichael and Boyle on the injury list, plus we had a rubbish pre season and we weren't going into the new season as Scottish cup champions.

I've every confidence that the signings will come however it would've certainly helped boost season ticket sales further, particularly given that the payment plan closes tomorrow, should there had been a couple of exciting new additions before now. Those that are suggesting that we've got this league sewn up already with a squad depleted in quality when compared to the squad that finished 3rd last year are very optimistic!

There was absolutely nothing wrong with last years squad, unfortunately Stubbs was still a rookie and he made rookie mistakes. Stokes was a good signing but it took him 1 month to get fit and up to speed, Dagnall was a complete waste of a signing. The poor form in February was a key factor and Stubbs didn't have a clue how to change it, instead playing the same way and using the same players. Our season came down to a one off game in May, it was a great occasion but it shouldn't have came to that, we had a squad good enough to take us up and Stubbs blew it.

We have a similar squad albeit a couple of new faces and youngsters coming back but Lennon has them playing at a higher tempo and a different system which seems to be more in tune for the league we are in, we've kept Hanlon and Cummings and added the experience of Holt.

Not that I am having a go at our recruitment and scouting policy but I would like us to look further afield. It seems like the same names keep coming up season after season (David Gray was one :greengrin)

It's not the first time a target that has been previously looked at by a previous manager has appeared as a target under a new manager. Under McLeish and Mowbray we spread the net a bit further. Granted this didn't work for Johnny Collins but would like to see us at least scout foreign and non european leagues. Seems as all our targets are UK based.

Stubbs always had the players. It was his later preferred formation that was the problem. Lennon appears to prefer formations that make the most of the players at his disposal.

I don't want to be a dick about our last proper number 1 as he played a key role in our Scottish cup win but even with the best agent/video analyst in the world couldn't make him look that good.

If he was as good as that all the time he wouldn't be possibly coming to Hibs though so I'm guessing he's got a mistake in his locker. That said though I'd suggest that given how much we are likely to dominate games this season he's a gamble worth taking.

Correct. Layne played a grand total of 8 games on loan at Brechin last season. Not saying we're definitely not interested but I'd be staggered if that's the level we're looking at for the first team squad.

Is Lennon actually talking down the developments in the possibility of getting Henderson or are our ITK members talking up the progress that may have been made? What Lennon has said will come as a big disappointment to many on here.

But he made it explicit the only one he hoped to get over the line for Sunday was the Keeper and even at that he indicated it may take till Monday
My point was that Lennon didn't say he would bring in three players this week but he is busy working towards bringing in three and Henderson and the Israel keeper are two of the three he is after

Lennon on HTV interview inferred it was a minor hamstring injury and hopes he will be fit for Falkirk and might even make the Shrewsbury game.

However it would be great to have both him and Fyvie fit for a full season or near enough as they probably only got a half season each last season

Graham is a very underrated centre forward. Mind him coming on for County in the cup final and giving our defence a torrid time. Harried, hassled and put himself about. Scored a perfectly good goal that was chalked off wrongly in my opinion for fouling the Ox. I would take the lad at Hibs.

Agree with this. Cummings is the main goalscorer no doubt about that. Every other club in the league we unfortunately find ourselves in would kill for a goalscorer like young Jason. Graham or someone similar is perfect foil for young Jason Cummings.
