Agree with this.

Yeah whilst I think we will win the league I think talk of going unbeaten is a bit ambitious. United will be decent, they put 6 past Cowdenbeath in midweek and apparently played very well.

Said before, the Falkirk match is huge.Lose and it could be 8 or 9 games of catching up, win and we could shoot away to an almost uncatchable position very quickly.

I think people are getting a bit carried away, but i expect us to win the league, and we should win it.

I think our style this season will see us dish out a few overdue thumpings too - we look a much harder side to play against. Less sterile posession, more direct and all the better for it.

had thought about putting a bet on this happening.........however, on thinking about it, IF we had league sewn up with, what 6,7 8 games to go, think we would play with weakened team as there would be nothing to play for other than pride.

I don't do predictions, but Hibs have to be favourites this season, its not so much that Hibs can go the whole season unbeaten rather than I cant think of any other team in the league that's capable of doing that either.

Dundee Utd .......... Rattled 6 past Cowdenbeath and no matter the standard of the opposition you have to play well to do that, the question is, how will they deal with setbacks? ... something Hibs have proved we are mostly capable of.

Falkirk ................. Already lost a couple of quality players and the window isn't closed yet, they will be tough, but no tougher than last season IMO.

Raith Rovers ......... Lost an obviously decent manager, unlikely to be any better than last season, but their Yam influence will mean they up their game against us.

Queen of the South .... Always a tough away game, but still wont better their efforts of the season before last.

Morton ..... Another team who are tough away from home, but their 3 - 0 win at Easter Rd last season was a fluke considering their overall form.

Dunfermline .... A bit of an unknown quantity, could be good and another team with Yam influence, their team and fans will treat Hibs like a derby match.

St Mirren ..... Stuffy bassas especially at Easter Road, but not much up front, cant see them even making the play off spots unless they improve markedly in that area.

Dumbarton .... If we have a bogey team its these buggers, will be fighting relegation again no doubt, be pish all season, but play like Barcelona against us.

Ayr Utd ...... Very lucky to get promoted, Stranraer were the better team in the play off .. if they cant improve on what I saw that day they are a cert to go down.

Basically its down to who has the tools for the long haul and I cant see past us in that area ... but what do I know, there's a reason I don't bet on football :greengrin

Very difficult season ahead, a number of teams will fancy their chances of winning the league especially now that The Rangers are out of it.

Hopefully we will deal better with the likes of Dumbarton etc than last season.

We have a tough start with Falkirk & Dunfermline both wanting to be in the mix and prove they are the real deal. If we get 6 points from those two games then that should lay a marker for the rest of the season.

I think we will be in the top 3 but not sure which position.

Hi Heid Yin

We will win the league but the challenge from Dundee United (in particular), Dunfermline, Falkirk and maybe St. Mirren will be relentless.
No team is going to resign itself to defeat against us and we will be seen as the biggest scalp - thus teams will lift their game.
We have to throw into the equation injuries and suspensions taking their toll - especially in the depths of winter on dodgy pitches and attrocious weather - both of which can be seen as levellers.
At present our squad is adequate if it remains free of the above, but I really do feel that we need to see 3 or 4 new faces at ER to bolster our squad and to see us through what will be a long and tough campaign.

Hibs to win league with between 5-7 games to spare. If this does happen this might be a problem for anyone going x amount of games unbeaten as we might just focus on cup after that..
