Very proud of the lads tonight. Couldn't ask for anymore. Penalties are a lottery in which we've won before. Well done Hibs Ggtth

Don't think anyone gave us a chance beforehand, we came so close to proving them wrong. Immense.

Great performance and spirit shown. Let's take this and in the Championship in style, starting with a hammering of Falkirk in the first game of the season.

If I was sitting on the balcony of a budget hotel in Bulgaria drinking cheap wine right now, I dare say I would be crying silver tears of pride.

But I'm not. I'm sitting in my pants in a flat in Leith.

Still immensely proud of our performance tonight though and I'm managing to keep my s*** together.

Roll on the league season.

Two good performances against a much higher seeded team, who were into their season and a bit of bad luck too

Looking forward to seeing what this team do this season.

Hearts out - deary me.

They did brilliant. If all of our goals over the two legs were properly counted then we'd be through! Never mind, we can focus on the domestic cups now. :greengrin

We got the toughest tie of all the Scottish teams and matched a good Danish team with a coloured history all the way and lost on pens/lottery over two legs, definitely gutted to be out but proud of the cabbage :agree:

I wondered about that, or AEK at ER after 90 mins. This team weren't as good as those ones but given where we are currently, to win 0-1 in Copenhagen is brilliant.

Superb tonight. Not fair that we lost but football often isn't. Win as a team, lose as a team. #wevegotmcginn. Lots to look forward to for the season ahead.

Amazing result and performances over the 2 legs. With a decent referee in the first game we'd be through. Great performances all round and keep this level up and we'll storm this division and have a very good chance at another cup

Very proud. A defeats always hard to take especially in the cirucmstances but taking all the factors into consideration it was a monumental effort and we deserved the trip to Berlin. Brondby knew it as well.

proud of the team ....and the fans. Lost and out of Europe and , to a man [boy/girl/woman], everyone is still praising the team effort. Take a bow Hibbys everywhere.

Very proud of everyone tonight. We're only out because of a few millimetres because so many of their penalties were nearly saved or missed. That's the deal though and we dust ourselves down and move on to the league.

P.s. I hope McGinn is ok. Better players than him have missed pens and came back stronger.

Copy and paste job from another thread for my thoughts tonight. Unlucky hibs.

Phenomenal performance. To a man I couldn't really find many faults. We played tremendous, away from home in hot conditions against a so called better and bigger team. Over the 210 mins and pens we more than matched them.*

Carrying on how we've played in the "big matches" over the last 2 years. We won't play a team of the quality (domestically) like Brondby all season.*

Playing teams that will be happy to allow us possession and play on the counter is an entirely different proposition.*

I've seen us playing in 3 games since we returned to pre season as SCOTTISH CUP CHAMPIONS and I've been impressed each game. Playing some nice fitbaw, players look hungry and Holt looks an excellent addition.*

Confident we're in a good position ahead of a long hard league season. HIBEES HIBEES HIBEES

Great effort by Hibs .. if the two legs were reversed I'm convinced Hibs would have been through tonight. Not one of the players let us down and there is no shame whatsoever in losing to 1 missed penalty ... take note John McGinn, you were brilliant in both legs.

Watching Hibs in the Motherwell game and both the UEFA games I would fancy our chances against 'anybody' in Scotland .... now its time for the league, we can do this .... Hibees forever ... proud of you !!!

Posted this on other threads but worth repeating.

Absolutely no disgrace given tonight's performance. Just unlucky. No fault of Super John.

To put in perspective:
1) We were only one of two teams from a lower division, other than country's top league in the competition. Zurich were the other. Acquitted ourselves well.
2) Ultimately went out (can't use the word 'beaten') to a team who have a bit of recent European pedigree
3) we almost became only the 3rd Scottish club to go through in a European tie after getting beat in the first leg. Almost some achievement.
4) all of the above done with an pretty much unchanged squad from last season. When Lennon brings in some named players to bolster the squad ( surely he must be on the case to do that?), we'll benefit from this over the season.

Proud of every Hibs player on that pitch last night - they gave us absolutely everything they had against a team with much more European experience - and were the better team over two legs. Special mention for Paul Hanlon and Captain Sir David Gray - both were outstanding.
If they continue that for the whole season we will achieve our ultimate goal which is promotion comfortably.
