View Full Version : Brondby - How are you getting there and where are you staying??

2 days until I'm off on my first of hopefully many European trips and I cannot wait. What's everyone's plans for it??

East Lothian contingent on the 1845 flight direct from Edinburgh to Copenhagen and returning Friday evening at 1740. Staying at the Cabinn Scandanavia along with seemingly everyone on the trip so should make for a quiet few nights :greengrin

Brondby are most definitely there for the taking. Roll on Wednesday!:scarf::cheers:

On the 1845 flight as well from Edinburgh Wednesday night. Meeting my brother over there - he is on the morning flight. Staying at the Cabinn Express for 2 nights and returning on the 10:00 flight Friday evening. He is away Friday morning so have a day in Copenhagen to myself. Might check out Christiania :greengrin cant get too smashed Friday as working Saturday

Wednesday and Thursday I hope to watch Hibs beat Brondby and plan to drink plenty lager!

Not really a definitive answer but best bet will be the Dubliner, in the main square of city centre

I would imagine a fair number will still have to purchase tickets. I know myself and a few others have not bought our tickets for the game yet and were just going to sort it over there. ( I am sure i read tickets will be on sale at the ground )

If I were you I would get them before you go over, as there is only a limited amount going to be on-sale at the ground

Totally up to you obviously, but getting them now and with the print @ home option aswell would mean avoiding missing out on tickets £6.20 a ticket aswell

I booked Cabinn City hotel through lowcostholidays who I only just found out went into administration.

They'd cancelled the room as well so hopefully if any other Hibby sees this they'll check before arriving.

I was lucky to have friends over there a day early so I've secured another room but it'll be a nightmare if others are unaware LCH have done a Rangers.

As a Copenhagen based Hibee I’m looking very much forward to tomorrow! Despite the defeat at Easter Road and Brøndby’s apparent good form I do fancy our chances. Been a fan since 2007 and have seen the men in green lift the cup twice at Hampden in person, so I consider myself a lucky token :)

I’m sure the gathering at The Dubliner is gonna be great, but as an ambassador of my city (and not exactly a fan of places like The Dubliner…), I do hope all travelling fans find time to experience some of the more authentic Danish pubs (typically called “værtshus” or “bodega”) where beers are way cheaper (bottles typically 20 kroner/2£). Or since the weather tomorrow looks perfect, simply just hang out by the canal or the harbour in the sun with your favourite alcoholic beverage.

I would also advice to join the designated Hibs fan train. Brøndby’s fans in general are OK, but they have quite a portion of rotten tomatoes in the mix, so the police escort is not a bad strategy in that area.
Also bring some carry-ons for the train ride and the common walk to the stadium in Brøndby, since the stadium is pretty much in the middle of nowhere. Drinking in the streets is just fine around here. Even with the police around.

We should clamp right down on the Brondby bad filmmaking mob.

Good sized Hibee crowd at the Dubliner about an hour ago in fine voice and spirit. "Warburton" song getting plenty of renditions.
I turned up about half 9 (local time) didn't even need my Google maps as I could hear the Hibs chants streets away!

In the pub now and the musicians doing all the Hibs chants for the crowd, going down a treat!

Apart from the collective boo (quite rightly) at the Ira song, the musician did pretty well playing along to Hibs songs and chants! Hopefully it's just as (or more) bouncing tomorrow!

Brilliant night out but the Dubliner was shut at 10.30 when we tried to get in, no idea why but the Irish Rover just up th road was good for a sing along. So far loving the laid back Danes....tomorrow will be epic regardless :flag:

We found a bar called the Paela. Ring any bells? Nice old place.

Just been down to Central station to get a ticket for the Hibees train. Nobody at the information desk knew anything about it. Also if you buy a ticket now, you have to travel in one hour. I bought a 24 hour ticket for 130 DKK. May not be the best or cheapest way, but I'm sorted and no queuing later for tickets :flag:

Don't think it would be, but on the other hand don't reckon there will be any ticket officers to enforce. So up to your conscience really. The ticket is 36 kr for the 3 zones each way. 22,5 if you download an app and buy a 20 zones multiride ticket (150 kr) and share it among you, or you can use the other zones tomorrow when heading for the airport. Links to the app are provided here: http://www.dinoffentligetransport.dk/billetter-og-priser/mobilbilletter/mobilklippekort/
After it's downloaded, you can change the language to english in "indstillinger". You can also buy a normal one off ticket in the app.

Palæ Bar is a fine classic bar. Hope you enjoyed it!

At special football fan trains in Denmark it's sometimes possible to pay cash on the train/platform (this is not usually an option). On other occasions it's up to each individual to secure a ticket prior to departure. There will defo not be any ticket check prior to the train leaving since the system in Denmark is based on carrying a ticket and then the train company conduct spot checking (but never at a crammed football fan train). The police will probably now the exact setup and can explain more outside the Dubliner.

Let's do this! GGTTH

I guess my translation from the Danish phrase in my head came out a bit weird, but I'm sure you know the meaning..
