Congratulations to Lewis Stevenson for being awarded his testimonial season

Even more so with the charities due to benefit from the testimonial match

He is a true legend with Hibs class in his vains

My question is.....

If Lewis is the first Hibs player to win both the Scottish and League Cups, has a hearts player ever done it?

Until the 1996 cup final against rangers (oldco) they hadn't won anything in nearly 40 years

And it's now 50 odd years since they won the league cup

Is there a player from the maroon side that has this accolade?

I await someone else's superior knowledge

GGTTH Dave MacKay - did the championship as well. The terrible trio did it as well.

I think hearts had quite an impressive record in the league cup in late 50s early 60s - think they possibly won 3 or 4 as well as scottish cup in 56 i think, so probably quite a few who did it.

:agree:

Putting my usual Hibs bias aside, they had a fantastic team in that era.

Strange to think we very nearly had 18 or so of them with that distinction!

Also very impressive that super John mcginn has winners medals for both in his cupboard at home.

I see Alan Stubbs had a victory in his first game in charge at Rotherham.

Parkside 0 - 7 Rotherham

0 - 7 has a nice ring to it :greengrin

:agree: proof, if more we needed, that's he's definitely better than Zidane. I mean ZZ was good obviously, but he played his whole career without winning either of Scotlands 2 major cups. Super john has both by the age of 21
