Was having a discussion with a friend the other day. On 21st of May would you rather have had the game we had with both teams leading at some point, the rollercoaster of emotions and the final minute winner or would you have preferred the 4-0 game instead to be the one that lifted the cup, a demolition and humiliation of our rivals?

IMO it's 100% the 3-2 that we had, thinking that we'd blown it again after 75 minutes only for a huge fightback. I don't think it'd have been the same if it was apparent that we were going to win the cup the whole way through.

Ooooo got me thinking, love the idea of 4-0 and a humiliation but the sheer joy of that last minute goal will never be forgotten.

Would rather have been two down.

Definitely the 3-2 last min winner, that feeling will never be experienced again! Let's hope we pump them 4-0 in a cup final soon though 😎

Nothing more enjoyable than a last minute winner!

The way it panned out was absolutely brilliant. The emotion of that was better than a humping imo.

wouldn't change anything about that day

Exactly the way it was. I remember at 2-1 thinking ok, at least we've not been hammered and taking as much reassurance from that as possible.

The rest is history!

Definitely preferred 3-2 but as ridiculous at it sounds, when we were behind I didn't think we'd blown it. I've been at many a game where I've hoped we could get back into it, thought we could get back into it, but didn't know we would get back into it - but there was something about that match where it just felt like it would be okay.

Even feeling that way, it didn't detract one bit from the elation at the equaliser and then the absolute meltdown at the winner :flag:

Really not fussed but i would have liked a 4 nil at half time. Mind you i still would not have thought it was finished as we find new ways to lose every year:greengrin

The only thing more satisfying than giving that mob a pumping is to score an injury time winner against them in the Scottish Cup Final after being 2-1 down. If Carlsberg did cup finals.........:flag:

The 4-0 game is probably my favourite ever match at Easter Road.

I wouldn't change anything though. A last minute winner in the Scottish Cup Final really is a fairytale story.

I had this conversation with a hearts fan recently. I said that even although they will feel that 5-1 trumps anything, there is no chance that they'll have felt the rush of adrenaline we felt in that last 3 minutes on 21/05. From around the 48th minute of 2012, they knew the game was won. With 12 minutes left we pretty much thought we were looking at another missed opportunity. Definitely wouldn't change the way it happened

What a way to do it. Fairytale stuff.

Yeah agree. Just something special about the way it unfolded. At the time, it was bloody nerve wracking but wouldn't swop the final goal and the couple of minutes after for anything. Just made it sweeter

Can't believe anyone would even debate 'how we won it' haha.
Are we taking it for granted already?

On topic tho, if that's not the perfect way to do it, I don't know what is

I said to my wife I hoped we'd be up 4.0 by half time so I could relax and enjoy the game. The way it actually unfolded was sheer brilliance as an entertainment script and a joy to witness.

I wouldn't change a thing about that day (except maybe seeing the Bread Man on his knees weeping)

It was perfect. As was the general campaign - we beat good sides and them on the way :flag:

I can't think of a single scenario that would have been better than what actually happened. Not even doing that against the Jambos would have topped it for me :flag:

I would not change a thing about 21/05/16.

That whole day was just absolute perfection.

A last minute winner in the Scottish Cup final is what dreams are made of.
