Oxley will be away very soon then, probably after the first leg of the euro tie.

I presume Ross will initially be back up to whoever our number one is going to be. I'd have liked to have had our keeper in place for the euro tie and pre-sesson games though.

Can only assume that Virtanen isn't rated. It's odd that we felt the need to sign another backup, unless Yogi was right and a goalkeeper school is the future

Maybe I misread your post and you aren't being smart? Logan would've been first choice keeper, Laidlaw is clearly one for the future so of course he is cheaper.

I'm not sure he would've been first choice though. Should've made clear I meant he would be cheaper back up than Logan/Oxley

I know this is tongue in cheek but it's sort of accurate. Only way for Logan to go is down. Over a season he's bound to make mistakes, I love the guy for obvious reasons but he's had an element of a journey man career. How long before people in the stands (or more likely online) turned on him despite the cup games? Just look at the various Jason Cummings discussions.

Do you not get bored having sly digs at the club you claim to support? Or do you just crave attention?

I don't think the signing of a 2nd/3rd choice keeper who may just have a bit potential was ever aimed at increasing ST sales.

You know that though, it just doesn't suit your agenda and thr chance to have a dig was too good to resist.

Grant Murray.

He also had a stormer when they put us out the cup a couple of seasons back too.

:aok: if he has been signed for back up or "one for the future" wonder why then he has only been giving a years contract.

I thought I'd heard of him before.

They've had a few inspirational goalkeeping performances against us - I couldn't remember if he was one.

I'd reckon because Murray has told Lennon there's potential there. We get a year to get a look at him and he doesn't cost a lot.

If it works out we do well, if it doesn't it's easy to cut ties after a year.

I thought I was the only goalie in the history of goalies that couldn't do that! I'm bloody brilliant diving to my right though 😉

Don't feel so bad now!

He's been out injured a lot and it will be a risk free signing as back up I would imagine.

I've only seen him once, at Hawick on Saturday.

He tipped what looked like a goalbound shot, at full stretch, out for a corner.

To his left.

Some poster said it was Grant Murray as he has worked with him so must have seen potential and he has been on Trial with us and Lennon said he was impressed with what he had seen
I still expect us to sign a No. 1. With Laid law as back up and the Ox will leave and get the boo boys off his back

Yes, saw that. My question was to Kaiser who said he had seen Laidlaw playing a lot and did not rate him (or worse). I wondered when and where Kaiser had seen him a lot during his time at Raith and Elgin (cause I have only seen him once iirc when he had a great game against us in the cup) but got no reply!

Is a year enough to prove potential? especially if he is back up. Giving his age I thought he might have gotten a 2/3 year deal and a little bit of security.

Such as? Nade who done a job for them and who else?

I'm not sure what it's got to do with signing a back up keeper with no links to Hearts apart from he lives quite close to Riccarton.

Grant Murray is a good young impressive coach, not a manager though.
