I'd be pretty disappointed if Stubbs came in for him after saying he wouldn't be back for any of our players.

If he comes back and makes an offer which gives Hibs what they would be looking for in terms of Jason have no issue whatsoever.

I'm sure we've been here before when a manager has met Hibs and said he wouldn't take any players then did just that. Mowbray for instance although I could be wrong
You can imagine the player and Stubbs are still quite close and in contact so if Stubbs bid it probably indicates a willingness to leave on Cummings part therefore a good fee and we move on ASAP.

I really want Jason to sign a new deal but if indications are this won't happen we need to sell him this summer, and quickly so we can invest the money received in a replacement who can be up and ready for the new campaign. I'm hoping from the noises Lennon's making he'll stay but I don't want this to become a Scott Allan-esque saga that drags on.

What sort of fee do you reckon we would get for him..if he was to leave?

My fear is he will go and we won't get a replacement. We would need to bolster the forward options if he does go

Fear not Finn If he goes we will bring in someone but Lennon has again gone public stating he expects him to stay as we need a proven scorer of 25 goals at this level and he said that after Rotherham interest was known

I assume he is working away quietly behind the scenes.

No loyalty in football these days, only self-interest. As long as Stubbs stumps up proper money for JC, got no problem with him going. IMO Hibs really need to force the issue with Jason to get an answer. If he's staying, fine, sign here. If he's no intention of staying, then Lennon need to start hunting for a good replacement. Last thing we need is a last minute transfer of JC, with no time to backfill.

I reckon we would get around 300k IMO

A message to Jason.
Have you ever been to Rotherham?
Do yourself a favour mate, wait until another offer comes in.

If JC has told Hibs he won't sign a contract then it might be that the club are sounding out potential bidders. I'd far rather see him join Stubbsy than the ******* New Huns.

It would be a bit disappointing if Stubbs takes one of our best players only a few weeks after saying he wouldn't be doing that.

What you basing that from?
Much less experienced Scottish players have gone for way more; Macleod at Rangers, Gauld after one good season, all the Falkirk teens that end up at Swansea etc
We'll easily get close to 1 mil.

That seems to suggest the door isn't totally closed on Logan getting offered something as well.

Think we would get that much as a development fee if he stayed til end of current contract, so no need for Hibs to sell. Idea of offering him a new contract is to improve his wages and up the amount we get if/when he does go.

I think if we get offered anything near 500k, we should seriously consider it. Aslong as it is going to be reinvested into finding a replacement!

Cant see us getting anything close to a million for Cummings.
He has played almost all of his football in the second tier of Scottish football and can sign a pre contract in January. I doubt the development fee , if we are due anything at all , would be alot as he was not part of our youth or development setups.
If we get close to 500k he will be off in a heartbeat.

A development fee isn't the best if he does a Scott Allan.
If Cummings has already stated his desire to move and wont sign a new contract with us then i dont see any reason for Stubbs not to be in for him. Chance are stubbs has been given a heads up if he wants to make a bid when the decision to sell Jason has been taken.
Thats a far cry from him coming back and raiding our best players against our wishes, which is what he was saying he wouldn't do.
I think if we get anything over £500k with a 10% sell on fee then he will be away.

I am talking about what Hibs can do and what are the best options for them. The power of players/agents means that does not always happen, but it doesnt mean the club should just cave in. Hibs did not cave in over Scott Alan, they took a view on how to turn a bad situation to their advantage, and I would argue they did the best thing in hindsight. Hibs have offered a new deal to Jason, so maybe we need to wait and see the outcome before looking at other scenarios.

Then IMO better to keep him and let his contract run down. We need scorers to get out of this league, and Scott MacDonald ain't coming. £750k min

Nice to see Stubbs is a man true to his word. Additionally, possibly feels Cummings unlikely to be any more than a bench-warmer initially in that league. He'll need signings that can make an impact immediately.
