Shame I think he would have added something to the Hibs attacking options this year.

He would have but **** him, he had his chance to join and knocked it back, onwards and upwards.

That's a couple of players we've missed out on to Motherwell now (Steven McManus) which is annoying.

We did manage to blow them out the water to secure the signing of Tim Clancy though.

You could say that that's even more annoying.

I thought it referred to the fact that he has scooted off back to Motherwell and found it quite witty.

Sure he wanted a two year at Hibs. Not convinced Hibs were willing to pay him that. End of the day, if Hibs wanted him badly we would have got him.

Don't think it is a good idea to go public on how good you think a player is while you are negotiating. It only encourages his agent (not that they need much encouragement. Just let us know when a deal has been completed. Hope to hear about one soon,

Normally I would agree. But this summer it feels like it works both ways, because the fans have the ultimate feel good bond with management and board right now.

Because there's been no uproar or fallout from this Scott MacDonald news, and the fans have an In Leanne (and Neil) We Trust mood, then we can safely say the next agent that tries to make negotiations public as a lever will think twice. It doesn't get you far with Hibs!

Well done the board, sure we'll get a good team in place this season

Mcdonald saying he was approached by Hibs, extolled the virtues of the club and getting back with Lennon but didn't hear anything in the last two weeks. Like to hear what LD has to say!

Looks like we have been a lever to hike up his wages at Motherwell. Not the first time and surely not the last time this will happen.

Does beg the question how serious were Hibs about this? Why would Lennon speak about and to him if he wasn't serious about him as a signing.

Bit of a strange one as according to a reporter on Twitter, we wanted him and he wanted to come. We thought it was a done deal.

Did the wee Aussie rat pull a fast one ?

Wonder if he'll play against us in the friendly on 10th July at Easter Road ?

Mcdonald said the offer was their from last season and it was still their this summer, he says Hibs knew what money he was on at Well, but Hibs interest cooled and he heard nothing from them for the past two weeks. ( hibs News Now )

You can understand it. Motherwell hang on to their SPL status and we have not regained ours yet.

It is his job, after all.

I'll tell you what she would say.... What a load of utter ***** you are talking Scott. Your agent has made this public with the sole intent of screwing a few more quid out of Hibs. We won't be messed about by anyone so off you pop back to Motherwell.

Im sure McDonald will now come out with the usual pish of "I never wanted to leave" and "Hibs messed me around!" Oh wait... He's said the 2nd one already!! :greengrin

That sounds much more like it than McDonalds garbled account. Sends out a message that players and agents cant try to pull a fast one with Hibs. Also suggests that we have other suitable targets ready to be pursued.

Well done Hibs and Lennon. Not being held to ransom by a player and his agent.

"The board and myself won't be messed about with and we will pursue other targets."

I say a big WELL DONE LENNON!! If every club took this stance it would hand negotiating power back to the clubs and the mercenaries would be driven out the game.

The deal was agreed and his agent tried to get more, so Hibs took the deal of the table!
