I see Klingsmann is the new favourite for the England job. Now that would be ironic.

Boris Johnson?
Must be a real reason why he's not going for PM job.:greengrin
And let's face it, he can't possibly do any worse than the last few they've had (England managers that is!!)

Doesn't matter who it is the players don't care down there, Rio Ferdinand said on tv that getting together with England was always difficult because your battling the other guys every week for your clubs and he couldn't switch it off, what chance do you have if after the ever growing lists of call offs you can't get a group of adults together to pull in the right direction

I think Iceland, Northern Ireland and (to an extent) Wales have shown that you can do great things when you have everyone pulling in the right direction.

If what Rio said really happens then I wouldn't be picking anyone under those circumstances. I'd be happy to do without a few good players who weren't prepared to co-operate in order to get inferior players who had the right attitude and were able to play in a particular system.

England really need a manager to get tough and not suffer fools. They've been getting messed about by their best, most senior players for what seems like decades now.

Got a fiver each on Benitez, Van Gaal or Pellegrini. All at least 33/1.

The only choice that will make them successful in the short term is Mourinho and that wont happen.

I don't see him moving back to Europe. In football terms, England are out of Europe. In real terms, they fully want to be out of it too:cb

Shearer seems to fancy himself for the job.
Give it him I say. After all its got to be an Englishman the pundits say.
A poisoned chalice if ever there was one.

Got a couple of quid on Ranieri at 40/1. Reckon he'd have them fearless and moving the ball quickly. 2 things they've lacked over the last few years

They need someone who can shake a fist at them on the touchline and not have the usual FA yes man approach.

Not that I give a toss

Most of my American football buddies would gladly pay for his flight...

So I hope he gets it!

For a lot of those players though it's their only chance to play on a stage like the Euros and will do anything to maintain that, plus they won't necessarily be playing against each other very often given the different leagues that they draw their players from. Rightly or wrongly, a lot of the England players will have taken in the hype about 'best league in the world' and the like, along with the Champions League, and simply not attach much importance to the national team.

I can also certainly see how the EPL bubble would mean that Man Utd players don't get on with Liverpool, Chelsea with Arsenal etc, and it's hardly a new thing as I know it was touched on even under Taylor and Venables.

The warbler must have a chance, he's already chosen their next goalkeeper.

It's just a bit too soon for him, according to Kenny Miller, who says that one day Warburton will manage England. :greengrin

There was a bit of chat re this on 5 live this morning. Didn't know he was one of main architects behind upheaval in German football structures and then also in the USA.

Ex-German player being interviewed reckoned Klinnsman would take England role if he was given space to make all the changes he felt would be needed. Top to bottom.
