Considering the devolved parliament came about from increasing pressure from the European Union on a Labour Government. Would a Conservative Government under the likes of Johnson and Gove within an independent UK hesitate to dissolve the Scottish Parliament?

What makes you so sure? Do try to elaborate.

No. Do you not think they've got enough on their plate?
And what would be the point?

No.

I think the scottish parliament's legal position was recently changed so that it is no longer tied to an act of parliament, so it now exists in its own right?

That's right.

While that's true, it's essentially meaningless since the UK parliament could just pass a new law to give itself the power to abolish the SP and then abolish it. Ultimately all sovereignty in the UK rests with the crown in parliament.

Do I think they will? Absolutely not. It would be up the already mad madness factor we're undergoing by about x100.

With all of the political salad that is going on south of the border, the most unlikely scenarios appear to be taking effect. I just wouldn't trust the sovereignty of the Scottish Parliament in the hands of a majority Conservative government under Boris Johnson with their main "opposition" being UKIP.

Extremely worrying times.

Basically, hating Scots will be a pretty good substitute for hating immigrants and it saves addressing the real problems (which will be many and varied).

It's the same point that makes today's gutter press headline on Nicola's supposed veto - is that really the biggest story about Brexit?.

What would that achieve?

What would that achieve?

It would divert attention from their latest monumental **** up.

I could have asked the question about a lot of decisions they have made in the past. It didn't stop them making them through.

And the ironic thing is even the BBC team involved pointed out she did was not entertaining that idea in any seriousness and was simply replying to a carefully loaded question.... in fact Brian (name escapes me, but the big lad) mentioned that specific detail in a seperate editorial.

As usual the tabloids pluck out what they want and wrap it in their own way to stick in the papers etc... at one point even on here it was looking like one of the new hibs dot net "facts"

:D
