Just done a google search and found this snippet ....

"Floriana FC, Floriana, Malta - The second oldest club in Malta and got their colours and nickname from the fact that the Dublin Fusiliers were based in the town and gave them their first set of shirts. The Irish link is so strong that people from Floriana are called 'Irish'."

Floriana is near Valetta and also near Paolo (Paolo Hibernians FC).
It would seem fair to assume that the Dublin Fusiliers had something to do with the founding of the Hibernians football club (either directly or indirectly).
Please note, that this is an assumption in the wake of no other info.
