How many caps has Scott Allan got?
Going forward, Allan may be more creative, but he doesn't defend, can't beat a man for pace, didn't score as many goals and players could jog past him.
Allan is the better technical player but John McGinn is a more useful and humble team player. John McGinn with the arrogance and technique of Scott Allan would be something else. Scott Allan with the work ethic and engine of John McGinn would, again, be something else.
As it stands. McGinn is the better player, but only because he's actually playing. Allan was just beginning to show how good he actually was when he left. Starting to shoot and score from distance more often. Going to Celtic was a bad move that has set him back another season in his development.
If you gave me a choice of one or the other (at their best at hibs) .. Allan. But i love McGinn too.
