I've got to say that next season is going to be pretty exciting given that we are the big fish in the small pond. I know it's nothing to be proud of, but the mcleish promotion season was very enjoyable what with Sauzee and Latapy doing their thing in the second tier, but it looks like we'll be doing that again next season. Cannot wait for the season to start.

Don't think for a minute it'll be as easy as that.

Teams will play the same way against us. Deep with plenty men behind the ball.

It's up to Lennon to find a way to deal with that, better than Stubbs did.

It's no just going to be an easy season though.

Dont see why not, the yams done it two years ago and the rangers this year, I full expect hibs to convincingly win this league.

We will have a different mindset this coming season. Winning with style will always be the desired option but winning will be the requirement.

Yip I expect Lennon to adopt a different, even more ruthless approach

Funnily enough, that was the song playing over the tannoy when I attended ER for the first time on my own.

Albeit with the real lyrics ;)

I thought that in 1998-9 until Hibs lost their first home match to Stranraer!

This is the kind of thread that gets dredged up in the middle of a poor run of form

I thought that in 1998-9 until Hibs lost their first home match to Stranraer!

Now that was a shocker but proved a wake up call as we learnt from it and promptly started battering teams thereafter.

With our new manager and what may well be the third biggest playing budget in the SPFL we should win the league in convincing fashion.

We should doesn't mean we will of course but here's hoping.

Agree. Will be very suprised if we concede a goal all season.

In all seriousness some people are getting carried away in my opinion. Hopefully we will win the league but there will be some poor results along the way.

Think it all depends on strengthening the squad over the summer. Confident Lennon will do good business over the summer and add the quality needed to win the league at a canter.

Depends on how well Dundee UTD and Falkirk strengthen, can see Falkirk losing players and UTD will have lots of changes to last season. We will be the most settled squad by the start of the season IMO

Dundee United are unsettled but Falkirk seem to be keeping their squad together so far

We should doesn't mean we will of course but here's hoping. we didn't really batter teams right away it was only when we got mixu and latapy in that we improved. Think mixu first game we lost to st.mirren 2-0 so it didn't start great

Same here. That song still takes me back every time I hear it.
Great memories.

Did you think that at this time last year too?

I'm really looking forward to it, the first year we were 3rd favourites, last year 2nd favourites and this year we'll be clear favourites, it's an unusual position to be in as a Hibs fan and although ideally we'd be in the top tier I think this has the makings of being a brilliant Season, also, the fact we have Lennon and he is well schooled in this 'biggest fish' scenario fills me with hope too.

No because the rangers were in the league.
