The club really cannot do anymore.

Scottish Cup for the first time in 114 years.

A league winning, cup winning manager who has guided a team from Scotland to the last 16 of the champions league masterminding a victory over arguable the team of the century.

If they aren't coming back now, then will they ever?

Get buying these season tickets and get us back were we belong!!

A hell of a statement of intent from the club, even though Celtic landed Rodgers, I'd still say this is the most impressive appointment by any Scottish club in decades.

I wouldn't say I've been a huge fan of his, but I'd say he's exactly what we need; a man not only experienced at winning titles, but, crucially, experience of being expected to win titles. And hey, if other clubs hate us, let's enjoy it! A bit of an edge and swagger wouldn't go amiss either!

I think with the Cup monkey off our back, hopefully Neil can not only get us out of the Championship, but do it by a distance, and get us back to the thick end of the top league!

Good luck Neil!!

Good luck Neil!!:agree: I like all that you say Scott. I also do recall reading some comments from Stubbs recently about this club saying ....some people in the background have big plans for this club.....this was said, round about the time he must have been mulling over a move. for me, It seems very correct, and the people in the background have made a fantastic move, to get someone with real drive, and determination added to his pedigree of winning. he wont just stand on the sidelines watching, like Calderwood and others. he will be going mental if his players don't do what is expected from his set up. very leased.

When Stubbs left, if I was asked to name 10 contenders for the job, no way would Lennon have been on that list. Not because he wasn't good enough in fact quite the opposite. Genuinely did not think we'd be able to attract probably the last manager to build a team capable of competing in the champions league from Scotland.

Every single person involved in the discussions to get Lennon in as our new head coach should be applauded. Dempster/Craig even Petrie have got us a winner who will not allow anyone in the media to talk down about our club.

To say I'm buzzing for the new season is an understatement. The highs Hibernian FC have given me/us (particularly this season with the big game wins and some of the trips have been phenomenal)

Altogether now.... WE ARE HIBERNIAN FC.....

Neil Lennon was way off the radar and is a sensational appointment. Really looking forward to next season. It won't unfortunately imo replicate the highs of winning the Cup but winning the league will do for me.

Time will tell although I trust Leeann Dempster in her vision for the club and in appointing the right man for the job.

I disliked Lennon intensely when he was at Celtic, both as a player and manager but if he can lead us back into the Premiership and get us playing good football then all that is forgotten about.

Any ideas on who will complete the new coaching set up? I'd imagine there will be a minimum of one coach brought in to replace Doolan.

Garry Parker will replace Doolan, remains to be seen whether Lennon wants to replace any other staff with his own people.

My thoughts exactly.

Fantastic appointment. A real statement of intent from the club.

I have to admit to being slightly worried when Stubbs left, thought the wheels were going to start coming off just as we had finally gotten the Scottish cup monkey off our backs. But after this announcement, very much looking forward to the new season now (and the preceding summer!)

:flag::flag::flag:

I felt the same way: I was worried we were going to gradually haemorrhage our best players and start the season with a team on a bit of a downer, and unrecognisable from the one that won the cup. While Neil Lennon wouldn't have been my choice, I think he's a name that players will want to hang about for, and to come to Hibs and play for. For the first time in ages I feel excited, positive and optimistic about the coming season. Welcome to Hibs Neil.

I think the one thing that Lennon can improve on over Stubbs is to imbue the team with a real "kick ass" mentality over 90 minutes in every game - instead of winning games by 1 or 2, there are teams in this league that we should be sticking 4 or 5 past every game we play them.

No disrespect intended to anyone, but that is the case.

Neil Lennon was appointed head coach of Hibs last night, and if you fancy him to win every game in the Championship next season, then you’ll get quite long odds.
Hibs are 1000/1 to go without dropping points in the Championship next season, which is a huge ask in what will be a difficult league.

Neil Lennon’s appointment as Hibs manager is testament to the vision of the club and the direction in which they are going. Don’t be surprised to see them lift next season’s Championship crown in style.

I agree we need to last the pace over the 90 mins and not give cheap goals away in the dying minutes.
We also need a bit more bite in the midfield and shore up the centre of our defence. I thought we were really vulnerable through the middle of our defence the whole season. Teams didn't even have to get to creative to get chances against us.

I'm hoping Lennon will take Dylan McGeouch under his wing and turn him into a solid defensive midfielder. At the moment I think we ask to much of him playing a defensive role and attacking midfield.

Alright guys Celtic fan, signed up just to congratulate Hibernian on a fantastic managerial appointment. It's a real signal of intent from the Hibs board and keeps that feel good atmosphere around your club that you have had since winning the Scottish Cup.

Was disappointed to hear Stubbs left for Rotherham, especially with Hibs being one of Scotland's big clubs, it's a step down for him in that regard. I thought he would have stuck around to get you's promoted maybe another cup run and a crack at Europe but It's worked out for the best now anyway.

I think the appointment of Lennon will help to keep some of the younger players at Hibs, and as some have said he will give some of your players a kick up the arse and demand performances. I'm sure his connections down south and his ties with Celtic will get you some decent players in.

If Lennon gets the right players and gets them playing the way he wants, I'd be more concerned about playing Hibs in the cup's than Sevco.

Anyway best of luck for the season ahead :aok:

Edit: you'll appreciate this if you haven't seen it
