Does anyone know if there's any method as to whether or not we will be home or away first? Just trying to sort a holiday for the away leg.

We are going to be in the unseeded half of the draw for the 2nd qualifying round so good chance of a hard draw!!!

Do you think we can sell out the home leg no matter who the opposition (like Malmo)? I was quite surprised that we did sell that out considering what a ***** team we had and we were already 2-0 down. I guess people wanted another AEK night.

Don't see why as we already know we are unseeded and will be getting a seeded team.

Lawrie Reilly passing away a few days earlier added a fair few on to the attendance to pay tribute to him.

Crowd for Malmö was 16000. Unlikely the qualifier legs will sell out.

Don't see why as we already know we are unseeded and will be getting a seeded team.

But that doesn't dictate anything? They'll pick 1 seeded team to be home against an unseeded team, then an unseeded team to lay at home against a seeded team and so on.

The seeded team plays away from home first . We're not seeded , so we will be at home first .
When we played Vidiotone , who were seeded , the first leg was at ER . We then pumped them 0-3 in the 2nd leg .

Teams are split into groups of 10. 5 seeds numbered 1-5 and 5 non-seeds numbered 6-10.

They will then draw 5 pairs of numbers, one from 1-5 and one from 6-10. eg 2 v 7, 8 v 3 and these match ups apply across the groups with the first number drawn playing at home first leg.

It's got 50% chance of being right :)
My bad if it's bs .

If a seeded team is knocked out in Round 1, the unseeded team that knocked them out takes their seeding in Round 2. So technically we could be drawn against a non-seed.

In the knockout rounds the seeded team play the first match away and the second at home, there is apparently no such stipulation for the qualifying rounds.

I am quite sure that Hibs weren't seeded when they drew Malmo and the first leg was away in that case. We will find out in just over a week.

Fair enough! Wasn't aware the rules changed through the competition. I'll miss both anyway, fingers crossed we progress! (As they would have been anyway)

Would be made up to reach the group stages and have a few euro nights. Tough ask but with a kind draw it could happen

We really don't want a Scandinavian team again who are in the middle of their season, always a massive advantage against a team trying to reach fitness, pre season (before one considers quality of the teams etc).

For anyone that thinks Scotland's football authorities go about things in a cack handed manner... The way uefa arrange this competition makes our lot look quite savvy!
I think before you can understand how it all works you'd need a scientific calculator,a slide rule, Rubik's Cube and a degree from Stephen Hawking university 🤔

For the first time ever I have the time and money to follow Hibs to an away game in Europe ..... but knowing my luck we will be drawn against somebody from Azerbaijan or deepest Siberia and I'm not too keen on a 6 hour flight with two transfers or something. With our recent record in Europe its a bit risky holding out for a better draw in the next round ...................... its a tough one :greengrin

Couldn't agree more ........ whats wrong with just chucking everybody into the pot and leaving seeding and coefficients and all that crap to the group stages.

I don't think we'll need to worry about that.

If we get through one tie I'll be happy.

wouldn't mind a wee trip to Ireland or Wales - easy to get too and a good chance of winning the tie.

Failing that, Slavia Prague please.

A good few of us need the first leg to be away from home so we are able to go.

I wish the draw would hurry up! Nice problem to have though I guess :greengrin

So when are the dates the ties due to take place ?

When do Hearts and Aberdeen enter?

Scottish clubs have had a pretty shocking record over the last few years.

Diddy teams like Heartz and the sheep enter at the 1st qualifying round, Cup Champions in the 2nd round
